Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff The staff at this property was excellent to work with. We had 100 pcs of left over chicken from a family event that we wanted to donate to etc. so it didn't go to waste. The person called around a tried to find someone who could take it but being a holiday he couldn't get through to anyone. I really enjoyed how quiet the room was even with the hotel booked to capacity. The location is close to the off ramp for the Indiana toll road and close by many retail stores and restaurants. The area is one of the safer parts of Elkhart. Normally cleanliness is not an issue at HI Express and even in this case it was probably an oversight. There was a glob of hair on the side of the sheet of one of the beds. This wasn't noticed until we were getting read to leave however so it was never relayed to the front desk. They ran out of Cinnamon Rolls for breakfast and that's one of the main reasons I stay of HI Express. I was disappointed that store bought rolls were in their place. I'm sure it was due to the holiday as well but the GM should have planned for that and had enough on hand. I always mark HI Express down for their mattresses. I know many like a firm mattress so if you're one of those you'll love them but I'm a big guy and I need a little "give" and these mattresses don't "give". I would recommend this property regardless of the minor issues we encountered. July 8, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Surprise We made a reservation for Friday night, June 27th for three adults and two small children. We spoke directly with the staff person at this hotel, and we did not go through the Holiday Inn Express main number. We spoke directly as we had a need for two beds and a cot or a porta-crib with our size group. I carefully wrote down the information that I was given, and we double checked that they had the accommodations that we needed. We learned that we needed to phone before 600P.M if we wanted to cancel. The reservation was confirmed early-afternoon. When we arrived shortly before 11:00, the friendly clerk thanked us for our membership and started to give us the key for room 220. The manager on hand stopped him to say that there had been a room change, and then she ran-literally ran-out the door. Imagine our surprise when we opened out room to find 1 bed---for five people!!!! The clerk tried his hardest to locate a roll-away but could not. He brought us extra linens. I had requested a room with two beds and a port-a-crib. Miserable night for very tired adult and two little ones on the floor... July 1, 2014

P. went the extra mile & got us a clean room within an hour. When we returned that night, we couldn't figure out the TV & he came in the room & explained it to us. He stated that he just wants his customers happy, wherever that takes. July 1, 2014

After driving six (6) hours from central Ohio and attending a graduation party the staff and comfort at Elkhart Holiday Express was a great welcome. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
