Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Port in the Storm After a cancelled flight, my son and I rented a car to drive from Atlanta to Charlotte. Approximately halfway there, the weather turned quite severe; the roads were sheets of ice. We stopped at the Holiday Inn Express out of necessity. It was a pleasant surprise. It is in a great location, with many amenities nearby (although the whole town was essentially shut down due to the ice). The staff was extremely nice...some of them were even stranded there overnight themselves. The only thing that could have made the stay better would have been the presence of a hot tub near the pool. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't Expect Internet Service If you just need a place to stay in an exellent location in Greenville well this is it. If you need Internet access then you should look elsewhere. I was in town on business and must have internet. This (or lack of it) forced me to move out after my first night. Front desk staff was helpful but they ended up having me call tech support for the service they use. I spent over an hour on the phone with them. The conclusion was that because my battery power was below 30% on the device I was trying to connect it was preventing connection. That was a new one on me. I think I would start looking for a new ISP. I will have to look elsewhere on my next trip to Greenville. January 31, 2016

I stayed here on Tuesday night and after traveling for 8 hrs I arrived after midnight and was not greeted at all at the front counter. After a few minutes a ticked off women came out to check me in. I introduced myself and she did not even look up at me or acknowledge me even though I am an Spire Elite member with a half million pts. I need a first floor room b/c of a disability and she seemed put off that this was the case and then refused to honor my corporate rate?? Claiming that it was not valid on a 1st floor room?? Implying that somehow my basic (non-suite) first floor room - was inappropriate for a Spire Elite member who is guaranteed an upgrade anyway? She also did not offer me my 500 check in bonus pts or a water. I would like my pts please!!! Then next morning I arrived to breakfast about 10 minutes before close time and everything but the rolls and gravy was already put away. I asked if I could have a biscuit for the gravy ans was told NO. Without any apology or explanation and then was denied again when I asked for milk......What the heck is happening at this hotel??
