straight she tried to blame us and whoever reserved the room. Everything was finally straighten out at the end.
On a seperate note when I tried to do laundry I called the front desk to get change. The lady at the front desk (Sam) told me I could get change at the game room. The machine didn't take my $5 bill so I asked her for change, she told me: "I only have five $1 bills". I asked for a different $5 bill. The machine still wouldn't take the money. I asked her for change and she responded "I can't give you change, I might need the change if a customer pays in cash" then she told me I could get change in the gas station across the street. After changing clothes, I went and got change but they only had 4 quarters. When I got back I asked her for quarters and tried to explain her that she just denied change to an actual customer just so she could have change for another customer that might never show up. She then asked me "Are we going to make a big deal about this?" I calmly responded " I'm not, I just want you to understand what you just did" She then went on a rant about how she was going to be there for 12 hours and she could not afford to be without change.
I have been working in customer service for over 15 years. Your job is to please the customer. However in this case it was a lack of customer service and common sense. She denied an existing customer change in case a hypothetical "cash paying" customer arrived. On top of that she had an attitude. At least the rest of the hotel staff were very friendly, especially the ladies attending the breakfast area and the gentlemen who checked us out of the hotel.
