Visit the University of Hohenheim campus, a short drive from the hotel, to stroll around the greenhouses, plants and 200 year-old trees in the verdant Hohenheimer Gardens. Follow the Historical Path for a history of vegetation from the Ice Age to the Middle Ages. The arboretum and botanical garden occupy the grounds of the baroque Hohenheim Palace, where tours can be arranged by appointment.
A 20-minute drive from the hotel, the slender Fernsehturm Stuttgart (TV Tower) is an icon of the city. Built in the 1950s, it was considered a prototype for similar buildings around the world. Ride the lift to the outdoor observation deck for spectacular views over the city, vineyards and forests beyond, or relax with a drink in the top-floor café and restaurant, which has equally superb views.
Don't Go Home Without
Local automotive giants Porsche and Mercedes-Benz both have must-see museums to the north of the city, within a 30-minute drive of the hotel. A visit to the gleaming, futuristic Porsche Museum can be combined with a factory tour. The Mercedes-Benz factory traces the company's history since 1886 and features more than 160 vintage models, racing cars and prototype research vehicles
