Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Quiet Haven Stayed here for business for several days. First impressions were of a modern, clean hotel, and it lived up to these. The hotel is on a quiet square a couple of minutes from a tram stop and bus station (Piccadilly Station is a £1.20 ride tram away, or a 20 minute walk. Victoria station and the MEN Centre are a few minutes walk away, or one tram stop). All parts of the hotel were clean, not just the bed/bath room. The room consisted of two single beds, a desk and chair, a small, open wardrobe and a full length mirror with hairdryer. Tea and coffee facilites were on the desk and there was a large (for a hotel) flat screen TV. The bathroom was actually a shower room, with a large cubicle and the head was adjustable from quite low to high - at 2 metres tall I was able to stand under it, which is unusual in hotels. There was a wash basin and toilet, with a large mirror. The water pressure in the shower was good and there were no leaks. It was plenty hot enough too. Soap and body wash/shampoo are provided. Towels were large, soft and fluffy. Breakfast was provided in the bar area and was the standard Holiday Inn Express buffet, with a good selection of cereals, bread, pastries, cheeses and hams, 3 hot items (scrambled egg, sausage and beans) and was of a high quality. Several juices, teas and coffees were also available. The lifts responded quickly and the stairs were easy to find (which is not always the case). The room was warm, clean and comfortable and I had no issues. Staff were attentive and helpful, all in all leading to a great stay. The only downside is that there is no restaurant in the hotel, but there's so many restaurants within a 10 minute walk you could stay for a month and not have to visit any twice. The streets around the hotel seemed safe and unthreatening so going out to eat really wasn't an issue. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel and would be more than happy to return. I hope my company places me there again - I've stayed in supposedly 4 star hotels in Manchester which aren't even half as good as this one was. April 18, 2016

The hotel is in a good location in the Northern Quarter of the city near Arndale shopping centre and a variety of restaurants and bars. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and a good size en suite. Breakfast was included which was self service and had all the basics; was clean and efficient. Overall our stay was very enjoyable and I would use these hotels again in the future. April 17, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for Manchester Arena Despite it being a very busy weekend in Manchester and the surrounding areas, the hotel staff dealt with the volume of customers very well. The location is great for the Arena (5 minute walk), there are plenty of options for eating and drinking, just remember that anything that shows up 1st on any search engines is likely to be booked out well in advance. The reception team are great with their recommendations and the ones we used were spot on April 13, 2016
