I had to many issues with the hotel even before I arrived. I hated that my credit card was charged before I even arrived to check in. I think that started the negative impact that I experienced with the staff and hotel before even arriving. I think the way the staff handled the issues could have been better.

It was late one night on our trip home to Ma and the first two hotels we tried were full. We always try to stay at a Holiday Inn Express because we know there will be no surprises or disappointments. We found this one and when my husband went in to check there was only one room left. It was way more then we are use to paying but it was late and we were tired. The man behind the desk was so wonderful that he said because it was so late we could have the room for the same price as the regular room. When we opened the door to the room we were pleasantly surprised it was a suite with a huge jacuzzi sitting in the room complete with steps, mirrors, lights, a living room, and a king bed and all the amenities that a suite would have! Unfortunately we were so tired we went right to bed but it was a beautiful room and we were very happy we got a chance to stay in the suite. Breakfast as always was hot good and the staff was wonderful.

In town from Kansas City for soccer tournaments. We received warm welcome from hotel staff upon arrival (Mauri). Appreciated the early start hours for breakfast and the variety. The breakfast hostess was great! She treated us like family. Staff checked on us about 30 minutes of checking in to ensure our rooms were up to par! Our rooms were by the elevators and ice machines and we heard nothing...impressive! Bed (even the sofa sleeper) were comfortable. The location of this hotel is near lots of shopping and eating (within 1 exit) and even the soccer fields. We had a great experience at the Holiday Inn Express Memphis Southwind.

Originally we had booked on points and were booked for a King bed room. Our adult daughter ended up with us, so we made another reservation with 2 queen beds in a deluxe suite, which was to have the 2 beds as well as a couch, and paying instead of using points and canceled the original reservation. We arrived to the cheery greeting of Chautauqua, who had us down to pay for a king bed room, but after noticing our dilemma, made sure we got another room with the separate beds. The only complaint is that we ended up with chairs instead of couch, but it worked out for this stay.
The hotel is very nice, clean, comfortable beds, flat screen TV, near plenty of restaurants. Only complaint about the room is that the shower head is very high and at my average woman height, out of reach to adjust. Also, even though we felt safe overall, we came in about 10ish to the hotel on one of the weekend nights to discover police all around the hotel next door and some looking around ours ...no idea what was going on. We were tired, went to our room and felt safe there.
Oh, breakfast is typical for HIE...needing more NONcarb choices, but the breakfast staff was friendly and greeted us each morning.

This was a great hotel. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the Memphis area. There is also a lot around there to do.

great value beds were great room clean. Carpet could stand to be replaced. Breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly at breakfast. Front desk did not have enough staff as many of us checked in at once and did have to wait but all in all would stay there again
