Our overall stay was very good but too many breakfast items were dried out almost to the point of being inedible. The omelettes and sausage were particularly dry. Other items were just OK. I'm not usually a picky eater but these needed better attention to cooking. The dining area was pleasant and clean as was our guest room. The only problem was the breakfast. Perhaps cooking/serving fewer items could prevent them from drying out. We'll be back but hope the cooking gets better.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dani42 Very Disappointed in the Service
My husband and I stayed here two weekends ago. We paid for the room months in advance online. The room itself was fine but we had no internet service in the room. We had to go in the hallway and down the hall to use our Ipad. I told the girl at the front desk and they acted confused about the internet not working, and they gave us a new room. Again, the room itself was fine but we still had little to no internet service. We had to go down to the lobby area to use the Ipad to look for a restaurant to make reservations at for that night and the next night. The girl at the front desk saw us doing this but didn't bother to ask if the new room was any better or if the internet was now working. The next day I nicely asked another girl at the front desk if we could be compensated in any way for not having any internet service in our room. She said she'd ask the manager and get back to me. She never did. On the last day before I checked out I was going to ask about some sort of reimbursement when I checked my bank info online (from the hallway# and saw that I was being charged for the room AGAIN. I'd already paid online. I showed the online charge to the girl at the desk and she removed the second charge with barely any apology for the charge OR for the lack of internet. After we got home, I realized I had left my Ipad charger plugged into the wall in room 314. I called and asked if they had my charger. I was told by the male who answered the phone that no one would be able to check for that except for Carly, the manager, and he had me leave her a message, which I did. She never got back to me. I called again a few days later and spoke to Leah, who said she'd go check for me and took my phone #. I never heard from her either. I called again this morning and the person at the desk said she'd check the Lost and Found for me #apparently Carly is NOT the only person with the ability to do this) and she said there was no charger in there. Why did no one ever call me back to let me know? I've been waiting for about 2 weeks now. The hotel itself was fine, but the service was really horrible, and the staff came off as being totally unconcerned. They were unapologetic and did not follow through with the things they said they'd do.

Recently spent one night.
When we entered our room it was so cold that I had to turn on heat until it get to about 74 degrees. The out door temperature was about 84 degrees.
After that every time we came into the room it had a very damp and musty smell to it. The room we wee in is is need to be renovated including the bath room with a patched tub, loose water fixture and toilet handle that was loose also. They swiped my credit card when I checked in that was in case there were any other charges. They did not inform me that they were charging 20.00 to my card for what they later said was just in case. If they had swiped my card when I arrived then why would they charge me 20.00 which they said would be refunded to me. Didn't care for their room conditions or their policy.

Bathrooms had plumbing issues. @ backed up sink and tub in one room and broken toilet handle in another. After complaining we were moved to better rooms

The hotel is like most other Holiday I inns I stay in except the wooden construction made the hotel noisy . We heard far too many footsteps and movement from the room above us.
I did not feel the value was worth the amount we paid.

The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I told my husband I want to buy one just like it.

We booked this hotel through hotwire.com thinking this was a 3 start hotel with a pool (which was critical for my daughter) and breakfast. It's really a 2/2.5 star so I was disappointed going in, however when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised at the large room, well up-kept hotel and very clean bathroom/room. There was a king bed, pull out sofa, fridge, free dvds at the front desk, free toiletries, etc. We were impressed and I thought i would eat my words. However the pool's water was so gross - murky/cloudy - I didn't dare let my child swim in it . In fact the next day it was closed and they were cleaning it all out. And the beds were such horrible quality that none of us got a decent nights sleep and were so exhausted and sore the next day it really affected the rest of our weekend in Newport. Overall, very disappointed and wouldn't recommend.
