Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Cozy, well placed, but loud. Bring ear plugs
Excellent spot in NYC -- between 7th and 8th for a good amount of access to the subway. Walking distance to a lot of great food and Times Square. Very close to Penn Station for those commuting to Newark.
Hotel itself is super busy as it's inexpensive. There's only two elevators to service something like 20 floors, so prepare to wait during the afternoons. The morning free breakfast gets unbelievably busy. There are tables to dine at outside and it's nice little patio. Street is actually quiet for NYC too.
Soundproofing is terrible, you'll hear the neighbour's TV without any effort. You hear outdoors if you're below 10th floor. The A/C unit is horrifyingly loud, but it works at least. Bring earplugs. Else assume you'll be awake all night.
Rooms are cozy, just big enough to fit a King bed with maybe two feet around it. My washroom was small (the bathtub curtain will touch you while you're on the can) but it's NYC so what can you expect. Clean. I'd say good for the price.
PS. I was in room x16 (facing street) and there's some sort of gasoline engine/generator that I was behind. It would start up every four or five hours and shake the room -- earplugs won't stop that. Didn't get much sleep because of it. I'd avoid it.

Apart from the soft pillows, and it's my fault I forgot to ask for firm pillows, everything was as good as it could possibly be.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by anav315 Super nice staff and very comfortable
Overall, the stay was very comfortable and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The location just can't be beat! It's right around at least 5 subway stations, and you can get pretty much anywhere walking! The Empire State, Times Square and even Central Park are mere minutes away (at most 30, walking), and it's a safe, fun area with lots of restaurants around!
On the first stay we got there way earlier than check-in time, and they allowed us to leave our luggage in storage while we went around town and explored.
The room isn't that small, specially for NYC standards, and it was in very good condition, comfortable and clean. It was not noisy and, honestly, after getting there exhausted from a day in the city we wouldn't have noticed anyways. The bathroom was very comfortable, clean and much bigger than expected, and toiletries smelled great!
We had no problems during our stay, breakfast was punctual, varied and decent, and it's amazing that it's included for this price! That was a great deal. We also reserved asking for the pizza package, which includes one large pizza and soda during your stay, and it was a lifesaver on the day we were the most exhausted.
On our last day, they left us store our luggage again after checking-out, since our flight left later that day, and do a late check-out to have the room until the very last possible minute. They helped us arrange a shuttle service to the airport, and were very nice in answering all of our doubts and questions.
All in all, I'd definitely book this hotel again and absolutely recommend it!
