Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent staff and location This hotel may surprise you! The price was good for NYC but this staff was THE BEST we have ever encountered at any hotel! They provided us with every need. The rooms were small but very comfortable, clean, and quiet. The elevators ran well and fast. The breakfast was good but the breakfast staff was AWESOME! We would highly recommend this hotel for its great staff, comfortable rooms, and location. February 28, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 payment I had an amazing time at HI Exp Times Sq, however this has been tarnished by the 3 payments that have been taken from my bank account, this has now left me £600 overdrawn! And I will now accrue bank charges as my direct debits and standing orders for March will be declined to be paid! I have called the Hotel and they have advised me that the payments will return to my account, however this can take up to 2 weeks!!!!!! It didnt take 2 weeks for you to take the money from my account! This has really left a bad taste in my mouth, I was planning to book this hotel for 04 June for 4 nights, however I will now seriously rethink my options!!! February 28, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Average This hotel is far from perfect or acceptable. The bed sheets had coffee stains on them. The temperature in the room was always either too hot or too cold, it was hard to control. The room was distastefully decorated, from the 1950s. The room was also very crammed, there was too much furniture that didn't have to be there. There was no room for hanging up clothes and coats for two people. The breakfast area was so full that it was impossible to grab anything and go. The only redeemable quality was the attentiveness and the friendliness of the staff. February 26, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel and good price, don't book ground transportation! Booked two rooms and stayed over a week for a work convention. The front desk staff and restaurant staff, as well as room attendants were all wonderful. Wifi worked great, breakfast spread was really great as well! No ear plugs at the front desk which was too bad when the wind was blowing like crazy and shaking the room, but I think it's a rare occurrence. While the hotel was great, we had an AWFUL experience with the ground transportation to the airport, which we booked through the hotel. We had 2 hours and 45 minutes until our flight, so we were in somewhat of a hurry, but had plenty of time. We told the ground transportation lady when our flight was, and that it was at JFK. She said there was a shuttle that was just picking up, and that it would make one more stop for people than go straight to JFK, and would be there in an hr (giving us plenty of time). We said ok. Here is where the experience goes south. The shuttle was Apple one, or something like that just as an fyi. It spent 45 minutes driving through times square and the theater district to pick up one other couple. Than the driver said it was going to LGA first, and claimed they were only 5 minutes apart! He would not stop at JFK first, even though we said we were going to miss our flight. At no point did the holiday inn express ground transportation booker ever tell us this shuttle was going to LGA, or we NEVER would have taken it and risked missing our flight. Long story short, we got to JFK 40 minutes before the flight, but it was too late to check bags and they wouldn't let us on the flight. For 5 people, this ended up costing us a fortune to deal with flight changes which we had to make, and was an exhausting experience. I am a platinum IHG member and we spent over $4,000 at the hotel over the week, and so needless to say this experience left me with a poor impression of the hotel. While I would recommend the hotel, I can't recommend enough NOT booking any ground transportation with them. February 22, 2015
