Overall, I felt this hotel just suffered from laziness of the staff.
Small things that make IHG stand out were not present here, e.g. 24-hour coffee availability, a receipt under the door on check-out morning, etc. I even had to give them my card again upon check-out. My wi-fi connection was absolutely miserable (as were a few of my common business travelers), and I resorted to leaving and working at a Starbucks instead.
The front desk was commonly left unmanned, though I could hear staff chatting (not doing business) behind the wall. With no bell or other way to alert them, I commonly had to wait. Someone would always emerge, surprised to see me there. As if that isn't what the front desk is for. Breakfast options were minimal to any other IHG (breakfast-included) property where I've stayed, and I just felt a lack of discipline/work ethic across the staff here.
As a Spire Elite member, I will definitely will stay in IHG hotels again. I will never stay in this one again.
