My friends and I loved everything about this hotel from the staff to our room to the ease of access to where we wanted to go.

We have relatives in Pittsburgh, so we have stayed here many times. It is clean, comfortable, has a great view of the city and is conveniently located close to Carson Street. The staff is friendly and efficient. There were a number of bachelor and bachelorette parties staying at the hotel during our most recent stay, and we expected to have our sleep interrupted, but once we closed the door we didn't hear a thing all night. The mattress was very comfortable, so that probably helped.
Breakfast was adequate, and the shuttle service was great.
I recommend this hotel.

Everything was fine! One thing that is bad, we had two cars and they charged us $28.00 for parking, 9 hours!!!! That was a bummer!

Have been to this hotel a few years ago. Location is pretty good but you will need a car to get around down. The Southside is slowly being upgraded. Its safe but would not be good to walk with children at night since there are many bars along the main drag that can get rowdy. Would be OK for a couple that likes to enjoy the night life a good meal and a brew.

Both the building, the room, and the service were outstanding. Room sizes were huge and very nicely decorated. Breakfast area was huge compared to what I've seen at most other HI Expresses.
All staff were friendly, prompt to respond to our report of room telephone not working. The shuttle service to our appointment in downtown was a God-send and they dropped us off right in front of the door to our building. No looking for parking, paying for parking, and then having to walk to a building!
Parking at the hotel was $14 and we left our car parked and used the free shuttle service to transport us the next morning. This is just fabulous service for the mobility-impaired individual. The shuttle driver was solicitous, and helpful. The only down note is that management needs to get the air conditioning repaired in the shuttle.
The wait for the shuttle after we called for pickup was very short. And again, they came right to the door of the building to get us.
I highly recommend this hotel!

The location is central to downtown Pittsburgh and the surrounding entertainment. However, based on my extensive travel, the price associated with this hotel is not concurrent with the conditions inside.
The air conditioning did not properly work, and as so, water gathered on the floor around the unit prior to our arrival which gave the room a very bad musty and mildew smell that made it hard to stay in the room.
I am sure that this is most likely not the normal conditions for these rooms, but the staff did not seem to engaged with my problem after I checked in. I realize that everything is might not be perfect, but customer service is what sets every business apart from another, and that is what dissapointed me the most being an IHG member.
