Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Reservation problem adjusted by helpful local desk clerk I made the reservation on line, Nowhere did I perceive that it was non-refundable. When my plans changed so that I arrived a day later, the 800 number customer service desk wouldn't help me. She did however transfer me to the local hotel desk, who was able to change my reservation after I begged and pleaded. So it was good that the local hotel desk clerk could help me, but it was bad 1) that the website didn't make it CLEAR I was renting at a non-refundable rate. And it was no special deal, it was full price, which is a LOT in my opinion. And it was bad 2) that the customer service number wouldn't help me. The hotel itself was fine, with very comfortable beds. The bathroom was EXTREMELY well lit, shockingly so. May 23, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Small boutique-like hotel with noisy elevator. This hotel is literally one block from State Street. You have so many dining choices within a few steps of this hotel. When I arrived I was allowed to check-in early which was a plus. The only thing, the room I was offered had been painted probably the day before and the smell of paint was very strong that I asked for a different room. One could smell paint in the halls of this hotel as if they had been painting other rooms too. That meant that the smell of fresh paint was coming through the A/C. The elevator was also another problem for me. It didn't seem to matter where one was, one could hear the elevator every time it was going up or down and if you were a light sleeper, you'd wake up like I did a few times. Overall, this is a cozy, boutique-like, small hotel. Breakfast was great. The best thing was the coffee. One last thing to mention that was a bit annoying was the person who checked me in. I had the hardest time understanding her. I won't name her but maybe it might help if she spoke slower, not faster to avoid confusion. I will say that the staff overall, did try to make my stay as pleasant as possible. May 20, 2016

It was difficult to go to the gym in the morning prior to attending the business meeting that was the purpose of my stay. I feel that a fitness center within the hotel would have been a lot more convenient. May 5, 2016
