Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst holiday inn express stay ever We checked in to this hotel late at night cause we drove in from out of town. First room we get is on the 3rd floor room 315. As soon as we step off elevator the floor stinks like mold and has a musky wet carpet smell. Make it to our room and the key doesn't work. We go back down get another key and try again. Again the card doesn't work so we go back down and she moves us to room 215. This floor still had the smell but was trying to be covered up by air freshner. Take two cards and what do you know both cards don't work. Go back down and she tells us she will just have to let us in room with master key. So we had no key for our room and if we needed to leave one had to stay to let other one in. Then my husband goes to use the restroom no toilet paper or anything and flushes and the toilet over flows and water goes everywhere. We call front desk and she says they don't have maintenance but she can bring us towels and a plunger to fix the problem. She comes to leave stuff and was like here you go idk how to do it. We had to clean up the mess and plunge the toilet. By this time it is 3:15 in the morning And we were ready to Go check into a different hotel but it was late so we just went to sleep. Wake up and my husband went downstairs to get something and I'm getting out of shower and I hear a light tap on door. Thinking its him I start walking to door naked from just getting out of shower and I knew he didn't have a key so I hurried to door and before I could look the door starts opening and its housekeeping. She never said housekeeping, she only tapped on door one time very lightly even had the do not disturb sign on door and she just barged in. No sorry nothing just said oops and closed the door. The manager was very nice when we addressed all this but we will never stay at this hotel again. May 29, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel I stay at this Holiday Inn Express anytime I'm in the Sugar Land/Stafford area on business. it's like home away from home. I know where to expect everything. My most recent stay I had put my key card in pocket with my phone and it erased. As I was attempting to open I realized the problem. As I approached the elevator to go down to lobby to get another a member of the maintenance crew was also waiting I laughed and told him what I'd done. with no hesitation he said here let me open for you and you can get another key next time through the lobby. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best in-room coffee ever. The room was clean, quiet and well appointed. The bed and pillows were surprisingly comfortable. The grounds and facilities were appealing, and the breakfast was pretty good, considering. But the in-room coffee was the best I've ever had. I always look forward to that first cup of coffee in the morning, but am usually less than enthusiastic about what comes out of the in-room coffee maker. I don't know who Holiday Inn buys their coffee from, but I'd be willing to drink it at home, too. May 18, 2015
