Nicole at front desk was a great help. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay went smoothly. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The dining area was clean. The only critique would be that the coffee in the evening was not fresh and lukewarm at best.

Overall the room was very good - size of suite, beds, sofa, desk, kitchenette (microwave and fridge), but it needed a bit of updating in relation to the electric plugs! a couple were coming out of the wall and/or shut down - otherwise room was clean, staff was friendly and overall experience was good. we would go back again when staying in the area.
Holiday Inn Express usually provides a great breakfast.

My only complaint was the business center computer was out of order, so I couldn't print boarding passes. I'd expect it to be fixed by now.

With a moldy bath/shower area and large dark stains on the carpet all grades involving the room suffer.
Staff was great but that still doesn't change innate feelings of disgust for my stay.

...but the room needs a real desk and a real office chair. Chairs provided are extremely uncomfortable.

Before I booked this stay I called the manager of this HIE 3 months ahead of time. I carefully explained that I have a Medically prescribed Hydro-therapy requirement. Simply stated I need a whirlpool every morning early. I asked if their whirlpool was in good working order. The manager assured my it was kept in perfect order. In reality the whirlpool is never usable. The first morning I found the whirlpool1/2 filled with luke warm water and dirty. I informed the front desk of the problem. I was told it would be fixed immediately. The second morning the whirlpool was again luke warm. I complained to the front desk and was again assured that it would be taken care of. On the third morning I waiting until 30 minute after the opening time to go down. This time I found the "Guest Services Manager" using a hose to fill the tub with cold water. I complained vigorously to this person... who explained, excused and justified her lack of competence . Still no correction. The pool is always cloudy and dirty.
The room was not cleaned for 3 of the 7 days of our stay. The maid was always very, very sorry every time, and provided more excuses and explanations.
We have stayed at HIE's many times and have come to expect very clean room and amenities. Swansea, MA is a substandard example of HIE.
A sign in bath promises to satisfaction?
