Checkout dispute handled poorly

The stay was typical of what I have come to expect. It was convenient, clean and breakfast was ok (don't care for the eggs with filling).
What I didn't like was the front desk refusing to accept my late checkout (due to business plan change). Front desk actually said they would not check me out because otherwise the charge for the night would not go thru. Which is what I wanted and i believe that I am entitled to due to my Platinum status.
When I refused to accept not being checked out until the next morning she played with the computer until I was checked out and charged at the same time.
I have done this in other occasions and never had a problem. Really poor customer service in this case.
