As a Rewards Member, I specifically chose this property due to it's proximity to the Austin Airport. There is another Holiday Inn a few miles down the road - brand new, a few dollars more. Trying to save, I booked this property. MISTAKE!
I understand properties undertake construction projects and overlooked the mess when I walked in. The evening staff the night of 8/15 staff was pleasant and pointed out the 8PM-midnight all-you-could-eat pancakes but honestly, I was exhausted and just wanted to go to sleep upon arrival. Thank you for your kindness!
My room, upon entry, was nice: a mini "suite" of sorts. It was hot when I entered - I would have thought in TX someone would have turned on the A/C for an arriving guest? So...I turned it on.
To my horror, the A/C was so loud I couldn't hear myself. It shook. It rattled. At that point, it was 9PM and I went to sleep. I was already unpacked and didn't call the front desk. SHAME ON ME. It went on and off all night long. I didn't sleep one second. Around 4AM, the A/C went completely off altogether. I dropped it down to 57 and finally, it kicked back in. It was so loud I couldn't hear myself think. Although @ 57, it was sweltering.
Upon checkout, there was a sign at the desk saying "sorry, we have stepped away. Please go around the corner, find the black courtesy phone and call. Someone will be right with you." I make my way around the black curtains of plastic and looked for the black courtesy phone. Nothing. I asked the throngs of construction workers who oggled me. No one had a clue. Good thing I speak Spanish and asked the kind maintenance gal where to find the front desk clerk (out smoking) who I told of my horrific night in Room 202. She said to call the owner. I will be contacting them and hope they read this review.
As a customer service manager and corporate trainer who focuses specifically on customer retention I'm ready to apply at IHG/Holiday Inn and start in Austin at this property, However, I'm miffed at myself for not picking up the phone and calling. At 4AM, however, I didn't feel like shuffling rooms. I have a feeling that Room 202 may not have been the only one having problems.
I'm exhausted and need a vacation from my vacation.

This property is undergoing renovations but I can tell that the finished design changes will only improve what I have come to expect from this H I Express. Will be very eye appealing.

I was very disappointed with my visit to this Hotel, it was not what I usually expect for a Holiday Inn Express. I have traveled to many Holiday In Express and never have had a bad experience until now for the price at this hotel I would have expected a lot more.
What a low down place this was. We have stayed at many nicer HI expresses than this place. And for the price my god you would have thought we was staying at a place fit for a king.
No hot tub. Pool was not clean. And double beds. Not even queen size beds. Floating floor, no carpet on the floors.
So Sorry for the negative review but it is what it is!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by li997 Comforable Room and Close to Austin-Bergstrom Airport
We stayed at this Holiday Inn Express before going on a trip to the Grand Bahamas.
We checked in around 9:00 PM and left around 5:00 AM, so our stay was short. There was fresh coffee downstairs the next morning, although we did not get breakfast.
We considered leaving our car, but since the shuttle did not run until 5:30, we decided to just drive it to the airport.
I have stayed at many, many Holiday Inn's over the years and the new concept of the Holiday Inn Express is great. Would have loved to stay for breakfast, but next time!

Cockroach inside of room, room temperature is warm, bathroom is the most cramped I've ever experienced. Dark and dank.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jackie253862 Remodeled "Barely"
The property is located close to the airport. With that being said don't expect much. The hotel room was clean and comfortable even had a small mini bar like area with a couch. However you can tell the room use to be one of those old Holiday Inn rooms that might have allowed smoking. My motto is if you can tell its been remodeled it wasn't done right. A remodeled building should look brand new. I'm 5'2 and the shower was quite short. The exhaust fan was very loud. I'm generally a cold person but the air conditioning did't seem to get below 75. On a positive note there was free beer Shiner Bock wine chips dips and sandwiches at the happy hour every night. The pool area was nice. Parking was plentiful. One of the big bonus downtown is literally 15 minutes away with traffic via Riverside drive however avoid I-35 like the plague. Lobby was being remodel as I left.
