Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by odd musty smell in room lovely resort, great price, nice rooms....just a strange musty smell that was a bit bothersome. Also we left some stuff accidently in a drawer, while we did get it back....it took a great deal of effort and a lot of calls and left voicemails. This nice of a property should not require so much effort to get items returned. Would recommend again and would visit again. July 24, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Tired hotel - Needs a refurbishment. Food is terrible While the location appears terrific, the rooms are dated and could do with a total makeover. Windows overlooking the sea are not cleaned so the view is obscured by a permanent haze. The pool area is noisy and the live music is not only unnecessary, annoying, and loud but it is the worst. Don't try the food either. Quality is poor and selection is limited. As for the drinks, they are equally abysmal. And who needs, "Hello, I am Elaine. I'll be your server today." We aren't there to make friends, and one can guess that the person about to take your order is the server. What kind of recalcitrant manager tells the staff to say that? It is appalling, obnoxious, unnecessary and typically indicative of an amateur-run establishment. and a poor experience to follow. Worst of all, this hotel is way overpriced for what it offers. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Anniversary Stay For our 37th wedding anniversary we booked an extended weekend, wanting to visit Acadia National Park, we researched hotels in the area extensively before booking the Regency Holiday Inn Resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our very first visit to Maine. The property that the hotel is located on is absolutely beautiful. Makes your feel as though you are on a resort. We took advantage of the free transportation to downtown Bar Harbor. We took the two hour island cruise. Can't say enough about the concierge service. We will be sure to come back for a longer stay next time and have already recommended your location to family and friends. When you can walk into your room and look out the windows at a breathtaking view that is ever changing, it doesn't get any better than this. As an amateur photographer, the opportunity for great photos abounds at this location. Sunrise is beyond description. July 20, 2015

This hotel is closed yearly from October through mid May. Resort and amenities may be closed for season. Check with the hotel for more information.

The whole bar harbor property is seasonal. You should call first. They close down for a few months in the late fall/winter.

No, the buffet is $15. It is not open for lunch. They are open for dinner. There are many great breakfast places in town.
