START TO FINISH HORRIBLE TIME

Let me start by saying I travel 46 weeks a year for work and always stay at a Holiday Inn. I very seldom write a review on the hotels I stay at, the only review I've written in the past was about how good this hotel was. This is no longer the case. Stayed here previously 5 times and all were great, sent familes and freinds here as well, never an issue.
This change my last visit on Dec 11th - 18th. Arrived at noon and the room was not ready, no issue happens all the time, but the women who checked us in failed to give us our towel cards and informed us the VIP lounge was closed due to Covid, she was not very educated at her job, VIP lounge was open and this is one of the reasons I use this hotel, I checked my luggage in with the bell man and upon returning to get swim trunks from my luggage he stated "You can't do that" you already left the luggage and cannot get anything out of your luggage until your room is ready. Crazy, they should of informed me of this when I was standing there in jeans and a long sleeve shirt. We get to the room and we are put in a small room they call a Junior suite, bathroom is the size of a small closet, mind you 4 people staying in this room. I requested a room with a bigger bathroom, could not accomadate even after telling them I was willing to pay for an upgrade. Hotel was very slow I find it hard to believe they had no rooms available with a bigger bathroom..4 people in a room, you would think you would recieve 4 bottles of water correct, nope only were entitled to 2 bottles, literally had to speak the manager on duty to get water for the room..Asked for additional linens for the sleeper sofa, never recieved them, housekeeping didn't seem like they wanted to part with them. The whole week was filled with little mishaps and was like pulling teeth to get result of simple things for an enjoyable vacation. The only positive thing that has not changed is the people in the VIP lounge and the waitress in the Italian Rest Semone. as always, they were fantastic. I know the hotels excuse will be Covid but it was not Covid, it was new poeple running a hotel with no experience in the hospitality industry. I do not expect the hotel to ensure I have fun on my vacation, I can do that on my own, but I do expect to basics from the hotel towels, water, linens a little bit kindness from staff, everyone was miserable..To be honest I was not mad, I was embarrassed that the people I took did not experience the fun I've had at this resort in the past. I used reward points but the additional for 2 people to stay in the room. Substantial amount I would say.. Not worth it
All I will say is read the reviews before booking this hotel, they are very accurate and all state the same problems with this hotel. Very sad, how this hotel is run ..
Lastly, tip for management, There is a pandemic going on, do not let the locals take over the resort on weekends, tourist have been tested before arriving in Jamaica, do locals have the same protcol to enter your facility....We had to leave the bar at night because numerous locals came in, no braclets, and not being charged for anything, now that's a good deal but not safe for your guests... ..

A very disappointed and embarrassed Spire member, I have alot of options where I can stay for my 46 weeks while working during the year, my treatment by your hotel and staff has me second guessing whether I will be switching hotel chains..

Very Dissapointed

This hotel is far far from away from it once was. I stayed once in the past and was happy with almost everything.

This time around, it was horrible from the check in to the check out. Some of the staff are ok but a couple were really horrible.

Almost no service, no housekeeping, only 2 water bottles in room. no cups for tea.. no glasses for juice or water. rooms with fridge empty.. No ice , no room service.

Broken locks, bad paint job, absolutely horrible food.

Never again.. I brought my staff there 5 rooms in total. I was totally embarrassed had to give them a bonus to make up for the bad hotel. We went Jewelz last year had no such complaint.

We were supposed to stay for a week but left after three days. The hotel is dated and needs major renovations. The staff was outstanding though. They know what they are working with as far as the age and condition of the hotel and can only play the hand they are dealt. The toilet leaked, the balcony door would not lock and the safe didn't work. Maintenance fixed the door and safe but we didn't realize the toilet was leaking until later in our stay but by then we knew we were leaving and didn't bother to report it. I would like to recognize Kimberly Morris and Kalia Bailey in the VIP Lounge, Mr. Lashey and Deventon Russell. They all went above and beyond to address our concerns and provided excellent customer service. Warren was our favorite bartender at the lobby bar and his drinks did not disappoint. The daily breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet was just ok but the a la carte options at Sorrento and Bay Breeze were very good and the drinks were not watered down. You will need reservations for the restaurants and they can only be made 24 hrs in advance. There is nightly entertainment and that was fun for a day or two. Be aware that on weekends the locals are allowed to check in and the place gets noisy and packed.

Holiday of a life time

A holiday in the Holiday Inn resort was amazing the first thing you see is all the smiling faces of the members of staff checking you in . We were shown to are room by happy chappy .
Food restaurants are amazing we really enjoyed the Italian and also the seafood. The rooms are clean and tidy and laundry changed every other day. All the areas on the resort were clean and tidy we had an amazing holiday and are looking forward to booking to go back next year

Friendly and efficient staff.. Mr Mowat , The bell man forgot his name.. Customer Service all staff interacted with were Customer friendly.
The room service was poor.. couldn't store my babies food as there wasn't a refrigerator. The room wasn't attended to again I had a walking baby...
Entertainment was great, was able to relax.
The food needs work I could see improvement from my last stay in July this year. I had to leave the hotel to get food for my young child. There were no nuggets, fries, hotdogs, burger bread was slice bread it was just unpalatable.. The restaurant needs a change in management.

Great Stay at Holiday Inn

This is my second time staying at the Holiday Inn Resort in Montego Bay and both experiences were really enjoyable. We love spending our time on the island or at the adult pool. We brought another couple who got engaged on the property. Sassy in Photography did a great job with their pictures. Clarence in the pub is wonderful and is always a good time. Kayon in Housekeeping did such a nice job with our room. The food has improved since our last stay. They have an omelet chef every morning and sometimes have a pasta bar at night. The jerk hut, barefoot bar and Sorrento have good food as well! Beach Towels were less available this stay but that’s an easy fix.
