Featured Dusseldorf Hotels

As one of the economic centers of both Germany and the European Union, Düsseldorf is a big draw for business travelers from all over the world. However, with an excess of modern architecture, a throbbing nightlife, frequent carnivals and a world class fashion scene, the reasons to visit this Western German gem are numerous. Find out for yourself all that this popular city has to offer when you book into one of our boutique hotels in Düsseldorf, which will keep you amply and comfortably situated next to all of the major sites.

As much of the city was destroyed in WWII, you'll want to head to the rebuilt Old Town for a glimpse of Düsseldorf as it used to be. Here you can imbibe both the historical and the modern alike at coffee shops, pubs and shopping centers, all tucked into these masterfully reconstructed buildings. In other sections of the city, including the Medienhafen, Rhine Promenade and Media Harbor, marvel at soaring glass and steel skyscrapers and an eclectic array of Frank O. Gehry buildings. If the day is clear, take an elevator ride up the Rheinturm for views that reach all the way to Essen, or grab a cup of coffee in any number of hip eateries in the Medienhafen. Alternatively, head to Marktplatz, the city's historic main square, for baroque sculptures and architecture, as well as a vibrant weekly market and a twinkling Christmas market.

For the art lovers in the family, you won't want to miss the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, with collections so vast they span three buildings. For something a little more contemporary, head to Museum Kunstpalast, Ständehaus or the Schifffahrt Museum, where you'll find art reaching from the classics up to modern times, housed in stately buildings and boasting multimedia displays. Once you've had your dose of serious art, get those toes tapping and those hips swinging at the Elvis Presley Exhibition, a collection curated by three avid collectors who have no connection to the King other than their fandom. When you're looking for a breath of fresh air, head to Hofgarten, the first public park in all of Germany. Picnicking in the North-Park's Japanese gardens is another good option, as it taking a long stroll down the banks of the Rhine.

Festivals and carnivals are a popular pastime in Düsseldorf. If you're lucky enough to be in town during the 2nd and 3rd weeks in July, be sure to take a ride on the ferris wheel overlooking the Rhine. There are also daily concerts in many parts of the city, frequent cartwheeling competitions (that's right, cartwheeling!), fashion shows galore and an annual Carneval.

Looking to do a little shopping? Be sure to peruse the boutiques along Königsallee, the main boulevard, as well as through Flingern, the city's fashion district. When you've worked up an appetite, this truly international city has Asian, Indian French cuisines to choose from. That said, you won't want to miss the local specialties, which include bratwurst, pea soup and regional brews. Head back to the Altstadt area to taste the Altbier (a dark beer) or enjoy a nice cocktail with the locals.

Düsseldorf is well-connected to the rest of the continent (and the world) via three airports. It is also a major hub for Germany's national railway, Deutsche Bahn, and many bus lines also serve the region.

Discover all that this exciting city has to offer when you stay in a boutique hotels in Düsseldorf. With stylish rooms, comfortable beds, world class amenities and a helpful staff, you'll make the most of your visit when you make Hotel Indigo® your home away from home.

Great hotel, with great selection of food, but an absolute abysmal shuttle bus service from the airport. Driver took 45 minutes to collect me from the meeting area and when I complained stated that [More] if I was not happy I should take a taxi, then further added insult to injury by saying if I continued to complain he would refuse to deliver me to the hotel. Disgraceful and spoiled what is an exceptional hotel. This particular person should NOT be doing this duty.. [Less]
