Patrycja took care of my check-in process. She handled it okay - neither warm welcome nor cold. I thanked her for the complimentary room upgrade.
I like the hotel's location which is in downtown,
within comfortable walking distance to the train central station. The hotel itself is new, about a year old; thus no complaints with cleanliness, etc.
Hours before the regular check out time, I requested for a 2-PM late check-out. This was gladly handled by Martin at the frontdesk.
However when I returned to my room at around 1 PM, my card key would not work. Exhausted from my morning work/activities, I just used the telephone by the elevator to call up frontdesk. Pawel was on the other line. I tried to tell him what happened. TRIED. Because he kept on INTERRUPTING me, and then ORDERED, "Come to the reception." When I asked for someone to come to my floor, and help me open the door, he said, "No. You must come here."
At the reception, I told him that with other IHG hotels, the staff would willingly help by bringing a spare key, going to the room, and opening the door. Interrupting me again, he responded, "Even if you're staying at Holiday Inn only?!" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He was rude. I didn't want to argue any longer. I just wanted to check out, leave the place, and not go back to the hotel anymore so I would not see Pawel again.
Please remind Pawel that he works in the Service Industry. He needs to keep "service" in mind always. Thank you. [Less]
