Featured Glasgow Hotels

Once the picture of post-industrial decline, Glasgow, Scotland's biggest city, is now the site of an exciting urban renaissance. As the proud bearer of an UNESCO Creative City designation and the host of numerous musical events each week, Glasgow provides more opportunities for cultural indulgence than you'll have time for in one visit. While you're in town, make sure to book into a centrally located boutique Glasgow hotel, where you'll find all of the comfort you need to rest up, relax, and discover all that this rapidly rejuvenating city has to offer.

Formerly known as the "second city of the empire," Glasgow's city architecture benefited from an influx of cotton and textile production wealth, enabling the construction of dazzling ornate buildings and an extensive public parks system. Begin your visit with a walking tour of the Victorian and Edwardian buildings on display in the city centre, including the Glasgow Cathedral and the City Chambers.

Glasgow has a number of artistic attractions you won't want to miss. Browse the 9,000 strong Burrell Collection or the always innovative Gallery of Modern Art for a glimpse into Scottish and international art from yesterday and today. Alternatively, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum provides a fascinating look into the history of the Scottish people, as well as a number of interactive displays. The Glasgow Science Centre is also highly interactive, as is the Police Museum, which details the history of Britain's oldest police force.

If it's outdoor pursuits that get your heart pumping, Glasgow features a number of green attractions you won't want to miss. Point your feet in the direction of the Botanic Gardens, Glasgow Green or Kelvingrove Park for tropical flora and fauna, or take a look at Nelson's Memorial. Alternatively, Fossil Grove, located within Victoria Park, offers an up close look at an ancient preserved forest, while Tollcross Park will wow you with its rose and winter gardens. If you'd like to get in your dose of outdoors living while seated in a stadium, head to Hampden Park, Celtic Park, Ibrox Stadium or Firhill to see the local or national teams play. As the national stadium, Hampden also features a fascinating exhibit on the history of Scottish football (soccer), and provides regular tours.

After all of your adventures, you're sure to have worked up an appetite. But if traditional Scottish haggis doesn't get your stomach rumbling, don't worry; Glasgow is a truly international city with diverse fare to please even the pickiest of eaters. Naturally, fish and chips are a popular choice, but so too is Asian, Italian, Mexican and fine European fare available a number of high end eateries. And of course, the Indian cuisine here is not to be missed, rated as some of the best in the UK.

Looking to get a little shopping done? Head to the pedestrianized Golden Z (known otherwise as Argyle, Buchanan and Sauchiehall Streets) or the Buchanan Galleries for a high end experience. For something a little livelier, the numerous stalls at the Barras in Glasgow's East End sell just about everything under the sun, and they'll provide a much more dynamic look into Scottish culture.

From bars and clubs to grand symphony halls, Glasgow offers more theatrical and musical performances than you'll be able to sample in one visit. The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the Royal Scottish Academy of Arts and Drama, the Theatre Royal, the King's Theatre, the Pavillion and the Panopticon Music Hall are just a few venues whose billings you'll want to be sure to check before planning your night out.

From Glasgow it's easy to reach other top destinations on the A82, such as the beautiful Loch Lomond. Edinburgh can be reached easily via train or bus, while the West Highland Railway will provide you with enough stunning sights to last a lifetime.

With so much to offer, it's important to choose a comfortable place to return to each night when visiting this busy and exciting city. You'll do just that when you choose to stay in one of our boutique hotels in Glasgow, where friendly staff and a host of amenities will ensure you always have a home away from home. Book today and begin dreaming of your unique Glasgow adventure.

Convenient hotel
By Peter44
This hotel is a quick walk from Glasgow International arrivals. After a tiring day and flight it is great to go straight to a clean comfortable room. The staff are great and the food alright even [More] though the room service menu is sparse. Great for transit but wouldn't use it for a holiday. [Less]
So convenient for the airport

Always first choice for location. Bar food needs an upgrade! Staff always friendly and helpful. [Less]
excellent service all round

convenient location and warm welcome

A friend and I stayed at the hotel and I liked its friendly and efficient service together with its extremely convenient location. We used the restaurant and were able to get a good offer, although [More] when we added the extras in, I thought it cost slightly more than I had anticipated. My room was comfortable, clean and compact, although a little on the small side - however, considering its location, I think it was a good deal. Considering it was a city centre hotel, I was not bothered by noise at all. [Less]
Comfortable bed, very clean, excellent staff. Very friendly.

From start to finish my stay at the holiday inn was excellent, arrived on early flight was able to check in early which was great, even got a late check out as we had an early competition and I could [More] concentrate on my daughter without worrying about checking out. We had very relaxing evening on the bar one of the evenings and great nights sleep in the very comfortable beds, no noise in corridor. Overall a great experience and have recommended it to other people traveling to glasgow. I stayed in glasgow in april and was sorry I didn't book holiday inn, it was so close to all amenities. Im returning to glasgow in October and have already booked my stay at the holiday inn. Thank you for a lovely stress free stay. [Less]

Was excellent to start with but ended up being average

Check in was great reception staff were lovely, also the guy in the health suit was really friendly and chatty, changing rooms are a bit dated but we're still clean enough. Everything was excellent [More] until we went for dinner in the restaurant, the young girl with the pinky coloured hair was so professional and such a pleasure could not fault her, but once we asked for the bill and they brang our change which was a note and a few silver coins, as I had no other change I left the coins and took the note, by the time we left the restaurant and went the bar the waitress with the blonde hair walked over and slammed the coins in front of us at the bar as if to say that because it wasn't much that she did not want it, I found this really unprofessional as it was the only spare change I had and it did state that all tips were shared between staff, it made me feel quite uncomfortable and a little embarrassed even though I payed for my meal and had done nothing wrong and was only trying to be nice, because of this I will think twice before returning to the hotel as I go here to relax and like to dine in the hotel. Great atmosphere. lovely staff. 10 out 10!

Very nice Crowne Plaza. One of the best I've ever been and it is better than many Intercontinental I've been in my life. The staff was very patient and helpful. Special mention to Miss Nicola who [More] helped me few times. The Priority Club Member room is available for every Priorit Club Member, not like some Crowne plaza were you have to pay extra. The room was so confortable that I had one of the best sleep in years. Defo I'll be back when I'll be in Glasgow, even if the Holiday Inn in nile street is good too. But this Crowne Plaza was 10 out of 10 [Less]
Excellent hotel in a great location for access to the SECC and Hydro

Great overnight stay in a lovely room with lots of amenities available, just wish we'd been staying longer to make use of the leisure facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly [More] on reception. [Less]
