Featured Glasgow Hotels

Once the picture of post-industrial decline, Glasgow, Scotland's biggest city, is now the site of an exciting urban renaissance. As the proud bearer of an UNESCO Creative City designation and the host of numerous musical events each week, Glasgow provides more opportunities for cultural indulgence than you'll have time for in one visit. While you're in town, make sure to book into a centrally located boutique Glasgow hotel, where you'll find all of the comfort you need to rest up, relax, and discover all that this rapidly rejuvenating city has to offer.

Formerly known as the "second city of the empire," Glasgow's city architecture benefited from an influx of cotton and textile production wealth, enabling the construction of dazzling ornate buildings and an extensive public parks system. Begin your visit with a walking tour of the Victorian and Edwardian buildings on display in the city centre, including the Glasgow Cathedral and the City Chambers.

Glasgow has a number of artistic attractions you won't want to miss. Browse the 9,000 strong Burrell Collection or the always innovative Gallery of Modern Art for a glimpse into Scottish and international art from yesterday and today. Alternatively, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum provides a fascinating look into the history of the Scottish people, as well as a number of interactive displays. The Glasgow Science Centre is also highly interactive, as is the Police Museum, which details the history of Britain's oldest police force.

If it's outdoor pursuits that get your heart pumping, Glasgow features a number of green attractions you won't want to miss. Point your feet in the direction of the Botanic Gardens, Glasgow Green or Kelvingrove Park for tropical flora and fauna, or take a look at Nelson's Memorial. Alternatively, Fossil Grove, located within Victoria Park, offers an up close look at an ancient preserved forest, while Tollcross Park will wow you with its rose and winter gardens. If you'd like to get in your dose of outdoors living while seated in a stadium, head to Hampden Park, Celtic Park, Ibrox Stadium or Firhill to see the local or national teams play. As the national stadium, Hampden also features a fascinating exhibit on the history of Scottish football (soccer), and provides regular tours.

After all of your adventures, you're sure to have worked up an appetite. But if traditional Scottish haggis doesn't get your stomach rumbling, don't worry; Glasgow is a truly international city with diverse fare to please even the pickiest of eaters. Naturally, fish and chips are a popular choice, but so too is Asian, Italian, Mexican and fine European fare available a number of high end eateries. And of course, the Indian cuisine here is not to be missed, rated as some of the best in the UK.

Looking to get a little shopping done? Head to the pedestrianized Golden Z (known otherwise as Argyle, Buchanan and Sauchiehall Streets) or the Buchanan Galleries for a high end experience. For something a little livelier, the numerous stalls at the Barras in Glasgow's East End sell just about everything under the sun, and they'll provide a much more dynamic look into Scottish culture.

From bars and clubs to grand symphony halls, Glasgow offers more theatrical and musical performances than you'll be able to sample in one visit. The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the Royal Scottish Academy of Arts and Drama, the Theatre Royal, the King's Theatre, the Pavillion and the Panopticon Music Hall are just a few venues whose billings you'll want to be sure to check before planning your night out.

From Glasgow it's easy to reach other top destinations on the A82, such as the beautiful Loch Lomond. Edinburgh can be reached easily via train or bus, while the West Highland Railway will provide you with enough stunning sights to last a lifetime.

With so much to offer, it's important to choose a comfortable place to return to each night when visiting this busy and exciting city. You'll do just that when you choose to stay in one of our boutique hotels in Glasgow, where friendly staff and a host of amenities will ensure you always have a home away from home. Book today and begin dreaming of your unique Glasgow adventure.

Perfect location

Not the first time my wife and I have stayed here and it won't be the last ... next visit in March with friends. The staff are friendly and helpful , the location is perfect and the décor is [More] fantastic [Less]

If you're travelling to Glasgow, I'd certainly recommend the Indigo Hotel. Great decor, the food is good and, the wi-fi access worked instantly! [Less]
This hotel is trying hard to please.
By Firefly53
I have visited this hotel several times during the past five years and have always enjoyed the hotels proximity to the local amenities and as a launch-pad for touring. Excellent parking availability [More] (free of charge). New bedding, levels of cleanliness, breakfast choice (bacon now available) and general service levels have all steadily improved. Well done to the owners and management. Remaining issues of noise pollution emanating from the adjacent main road and 24 hour emergency services centre which can impact significantly particularly when billeted at the front of the hotel are well known to the staff. Improved double glazing will no doubt be fitted as funding becomes available. Until this issue is addressed and, as much as I like the hotel's rear facing rooms, I would hesitate to outright recommend this hotel to friends. Any recommendation would have to be given with the caveat of ensuring the booking a room to the rear of the hotel. [Less]
Big comfortable (though somewhat noisy) room
By PKOK
Big room, clean, good free wifi. Soundproofing could have been better as I could hear the cars outside even though the road must have been 50 yards away. Breakfast was adequate but would have [More] been good with just a bit more choice, especially some items to reflect the location (in Scotland), e.g. potato scones, haggis, black pudding. Otherwise it just becomes standard fare that could be picked up anywhere. [Less]

What have you done to your Menu!
By Merf33
I have rated my overall stay a 4.5 star as every member of staff in this hotel is so helpful, welcoming and wanting to ensure your stay is the best it can be, right from Reception to room service to [More] Restaurant / bar everyone gives 100% and this makes the Crowne Plaza stand out from other hotels in Glasgow. Nicola an Tomas from Reception are 2 that stood out this stay. Unfortunately the Room service and Restaurant Menu have been "updated" and changed and ALL of the nations favourites removed, Now No Omelette, No Gammon, No King Prawns and Chorizo No Salmon, No Panini's, All of which were mine and Multiple colleagues favourites as we stay at this hotel around 150 - 200 nights per year it was very disappointing to see all of the previous tasty options removed from the menu. Even the items left have been compromised, I ordered the Pate.... it no longer comes with Chutney and side salad / Garnish but an empty plate with only the Pate and plain bread, when I asked the waitress was this a mistake the reply was No, this is the new Menu (with an embarrassed look on her face) This new cut back Menu really lets the Hotel Down which is a shame as previously it had prided itself on the Motto "Its the Small Things That Make a Big Difference" But cutting the Menu back to what it is now and compromising on Quality is poor. Bring back the old Menu please...... [Less]
Relaxing stay and great service

Staff were excellent and looked after us well as we have come to expect from Crowne Plaza Glasgow. [Less]
Chilled out by the Clyde
By collector2016
Spent a day unwinding in this clyde side haven. Manned by a friendly and hospitable staff, nothing was any bother to them. Relaxing time in the pool was followed by some time catching up with [More] research in quiet tranquil surroundings. The hotel is just minutes away from the city centre and yet is in a quiet peaceful location, where you are more likely to be knocked down by a jogger than a jag. [Less]
