Featured Liverpool Hotels

As the birthplace of a number of iconic bands -- Gerry & the Pacemakers, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and, oh yeah, The Beatles -- Liverpool has long been recognized as one of the world's top musical incubators. However, its status as a port city has also fashioned Liverpool into a diverse destination, imbuing the city with a host of intriguing cultural, artistic and dining options. Stay at one of our distinctive boutique hotels in Liverpool and you'll be ideally placed to explore all this vibrant city has to offer.

In terms of British cities, Liverpool didn't become a major player until the 19th century, when transatlantic trade became a main economic driver. Not surprisingly given its role as a crossroads for innovations and ideas as well as goods, the city has given rise to a number of important firsts, and even pioneered the world's first skyscraper. Explore this fascinating history and more at the World Museum Liverpool, the Merseyside Maritime Museum, and the International Slavery Museum. Or, for a review of more contemporary pop culture history, a tour of the Beatles Story or a modern art or dance performance at the Bluecoat are just the place to head.

While you're on your art kick, the Victoria Gallery and Museum, Sudley House, the Static Gallery, the Tate Liverpool and the Wolstenhome Creative Space are sure to satisfy, boasting fine collections of historical, folk and contemporary art. Alternatively, taking a stroll past the Royal Liver Building, St. George's Hall, the Liverpool Cathedral, Princes Road Synagogue will provide an excellent look at the city's varied architectural history, from Greco-Roman facades to Gothic and Moorish building styles.

Fans of Downton Abbey will enjoy getting their outdoor fix at Croxteth Hall and Country Park, a once vast estate with ample grounds and historical buildings to explore. And of course, for sports aficionados, catching an Everton or Liverpool football (soccer) game is a must, as they are two of the most respected, popular and storied teams in the sport today.

While in town, you won't want to miss the opportunity sneak in a little retail therapy. Situated in the heart of London, the Metquarter provides all of the high end brands you could wish for, while the Bluecoat will provide a little more quirk for your retail adventures. The relatively new Liverpool One is also not to be missed, with three levels of shopping and entertainment.

As the lights go down, choose from diverse cuisine offerings in the particularly bopping City Centre, Lark Lane and Seel Street areas. Pizza, noodle spots, and eclectic Asian offerings all abound, as do a surplus of classic pubs serving fish and chips. Once you've dined, choose from theaters, comedy venues, and music clubs for a lively evening. The Liverpool Empire Theatre and Philharmonic Orchestra Hall are always bound to have something good on, but you're much more likely to discover the next John Lennon in a tucked away club.

Liverpool is well connected to the rest of the UK via boat, train, bus and air. Guarantee a friendly greeting once you debark by booking into a boutique hotel in Liverpool. With world class amenities, well-appointed rooms and a staff that aims to please, you'll have the trip of a lifetime when you book today.

Flying visit

Reception staff always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit crazy- not enough staff to prepare tables for guests! Really appreciate the refurb work but distinct smell of fresh paint is quite [More] overpowering in some places. Good overall [Less]
Convenient location and excellent refurbishment
By Romans 1
We stayed 3 nights over a weekend at the Holiday Inn Haydock. It has a large free car park with easy access to the entrance. The reception was bright and checkin was quick and efficient with a very [More] pleasant, welcoming receptionist. Our room on the first floor had just been refurbished and was very smart with a fresh new carpet, large TV and very smart modern bathroom with huge walk-in shower. The bed was comfortable and the curtains excellent giving full blackout. There was plenty of storage space in the large wardrobes. The wifi was good. Unfortunately there were big Christmas parties in the hotel on the Friday and Saturday nights and we were woken frequently by banging on doors and loud shouting in our corridor from inebriated guests. It was better on the Sunday. We would have rated the hotel as excellent had it not been for the disturbed nights. When it was quiet on the Sunday we slept very well and hope this would be the norm outside party seasons. [Less]
Pity about the food
By Nolnil
The hotel staff outshine the hotel which suffers from poor quality food and a lack of healthy options. Restricted by IHG standard menu, I would hope that given the opportunity the cooks would be able [More] to provide better food if left to their own ability. An option of salads (with proper lettuce and not just rocket) would be a suggestion where the meat choice would be the option. For example: Tuna, ham, cheese etc. There is too much fried choices or microwaved meals. [Less]

Lovely Stay in Bolton

Great service
By Mick'O
I stayed in the Holiday Inn Bolton with family. First night was excellent. Good food very accommodating staff and breakfast was excellent. Friday night stay was not so great but due to inconsiderate [More] guests who attended a Christmas party. Not much sleep until after 1 am. Would not blame the hotel on this and I will use this hotel again. Might just ask if they have any party's on before I book. Overall excellent hotel. [Less]
Great staff
By John'enry
Apart from the minor disturbances the staff were absolutely great. I do feel that the abbreviated rest breaks for them, which were in operation during that weekend, is rather severe, but it did not [More] detract from the excellent service. In the words of Arnold Schwartzenegger: "I'll be back." [Less]
Business Stop

I have used Leigh before and it is a good location. A clean hotel, decent rooms and staff always friendly [Less]
Great Service and comfortable for an overnight stay
By dee1987
I had booked the hotel for an overnight stay as I was visiting Manchester for a football game. Getting to the hotel from Manchester was easy - took about 15 mins to drive there. Overall the [More] experience was perfect, greeted warmly upon my arrival, checked in really quickly. The room i had was clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was good, with a variety of options and then to check out it was smooth and simple. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. [Less]
