Stayed at Hotel Indigo in Del Mar for a weekend after graduation. The hotel is a boutique type so there isn't a huge number of rooms. The room was very nice, large and had the open air feeling which made it feel very comfortable. Beds were excellent. The view was nice that it looked out towards the ocean so I wasn't looking in other rooms or parts of the hotel, but from the location, there wasn't much of the ocean to really be seen. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking is a little bit of a challenge, being on a hillside, but still alright with no worries. Definitely would come back.

The staff here were great, especially with our daughter. Super friendly and helpful. The location is great too. Close to beach, shopping, and a lot of restaraunts. Perfect spot for a weekend getaway.

In a few words: really bad experience at the Indigo Del Mar!
The room and bathroom were not clean at all, the furniture and decoration are dated, and the worst of all, the noise outside will not let you sleep...you can hear all that's going on outside of the room.

My sister and I stayed here to attend our niece's wedding. My sister and I have opposite tastes, while I found this hotel charming and quaint, she found it lacking in a more cosmopolitan way and felt it was pricey for what it is.
I had thought there would be bath-robes for complimentary use during our stay but none was to be had. I would have brought my own if I had known. Most other hotels I've stayed at have bathrobes available.
We both agreed that the utensils at the restaurant needs re-furbishing, most of the flatware looked quite old and used. Breakfast was just adequate, lunch was better.
The rooms are nicely situated and we had terrific weather over the weekend which made our stay particularly nice.

This is an old facility that has been rehabed for a lot of money. It lacked attention to detail and cleanliness which can be attributed to poor management. The floor of the room was dirty with sand and dust - the soles of my feet were dirty the first time I walked on the floor. The sink drain did not work. The fan had only one speed (the highest) which you could not adjust. In the booking description it said it would come with a fridge. They had something that looked like a fridge but turned out to be a "cooler". We had to insist on getting a real fridge to keep our food from spoiling.
Guests left dishes on the outside walkways which were there for the whole day or longer without staff picking them up. The main lobby, restaurant and pool areas were wonderful. The place needs more attention to detail when it comes to housekeeping.
It also had no recycling services available for guests which is a shame. Considering California's water shortage, they should have offered the standard option of NOT having new towels every day. I was appalled how backwards they are in the environmental department.

The hotel is comfortable with all the amenities one would expect at a place like this.
What stands out is the service and location. The staff are courteous and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable.
Very well located - close to Del Mar downtown and the beaches.

We really enjoyed this hotel. The rooms were large and well-decorated. Most importantly to us, it is pet-friendly. It is very close to Del Mar shopping and dining. We also enjoyed the hotel bar and appetizers. The food and service were excellent, and the bar is indoors and outdoors. The outdoors part has fire pits and an ocean view. We plan to stay again on our next Del Mar visit.
