New Orleans Museum of Art
NOMA, the city’s oldest fine arts institution, hosts an impressive permanent collection of almost 40,000 objects – which ranks among the top 25 percent of the nation’s largest and most significant museums. NOMA also includes the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden, a 5-acre gated garden featuring fifty modern sculptures set among live oaks, pines, magnolias, camellias, lagoons, several bridges, and a walking trail. NOMA is situated within City Park, one of the most visited public parks in the U.S., in which you can find multiple activities to do in the surrounding area as well. Hotel Indigo also have public transits that can directly take you to NOMA/City Park.
Ashe Cultural Center
Located on Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard within walking distance from Hotel Indigo New Orleans. Ashe Cultural Arts Center is the home for African-centered cultural arts. Ashe uses art & culture to support people, community development, and the creation of partnerships that amplify outreach and support efforts. Jacque Imo's Café
Best to reach by public transit from the hotel, this five-star food restaurant located on Oak Street is one of the hottest restaurants for “real Nawlins food.” Among the many Creole and soul dishes, Jacques-Imo’s specials include shrimp and alligator sausage cheesecake. You may also request to eat in the truck-turned table for two parked out front. You may expect to wait for a table (can be up to two hours) but you can anticipate not only traditional New Orleans fare, but also the welcoming southern hospitality.
Magazine Street
Parallel to the Mississippi and travels from Audubon Park/Zoo to Canal Street, Magazine Street is six miles of shopping, dining, art & attractions! Most of the street is a mix of residential and commercial buildings, generally older houses from the later nineteenth century and similarly aged commercial stretches consisting of antique shops, clothing boutiques, restaurants, and bars. It is only 5 blocks down from the hotel and about a 10-minute walk. You may also ask the front desk for a booklet of what Magazine Street offers.

Located on St. Charles Avenue, the owners bring a combined restaurant experience of more than 50 years. With its elegant and relaxed setting, Mr. John's offers more than steak. Veal, fresh fish and lobster dot the menu. Reservations recommended.
Commander’s Palace
Nestled in the Garden District stands this turquoise and white Victorian fantasy of a building, complete with turrets, columns and gingerbread. From your first sip of a Sazerac to your last crumb of bread pudding soufflé, the restaurant will pamper and delight you.
Hansen’s Snowbliz
Family-owned for three generations, Hansen’s is a New Orleans staple you do not want to miss out on! Located on Tchoupitoulas Street, it is best to beat the New Orleans heat with their famous shaved ice and homemade syrups. Being one of New Orleans’ oldest snowball stands, there is no doubt why the James Beard Foundation honored Hansen’s as a 2014 America’s Classic. They are open during Spring to Fall seasons.
Boil Seafood House
It’s no secret seafood boils are a tradition in Louisiana, but Boil is a ‘down and dirty, backyard boil type of place” serving Viet-Cajun boiled seafood. You start by picking your seafood, your flavor, and then choosing your heat level. You have various seafood options from Cajun, Caribbean, Garlic Butter, and Boil House sauce. The menu also includes crawfish, shrimp, mussels, clams, snow crab, king crab, and Dungeness crabs. It’s just like a backyard boil except for the fact that the food, cocktails, and craft beer never end! Just a mile away from Hotel Indigo, don’t forget to get your seafood cravings satisfied here in the Garden District.
