The two things in my subject line were the best things about this hotel. We received pretty much what we expected for the price - good sleep and a nice shower. Other than that, the hotel was fine for the price. Safe parking lot, close to everything we wanted to see while there. There were awful smells throughout the hotel, mostly in the common areas. Our room was clean, but dated, and smelled strongly of an astingent cleaning product. Definitely bring an air freshener you like and/or a scented candle.

I thought it would be really good place to stay since it was close to downtown with not being directly downtown. I expected better out of an IHG hotel. We will try another agent hotel in the area later on.

I felt as comfortable as being at home. The full refrigerator with ICE MAKER was a wonderful surprise. Coffee pot and quality microwave made great mornings and flexible dinners. Did not need to eat out all week saving many $s. Enjoyed the all purpose table with swivel chair for eating, work with multiple plugs, and simply watching news or my favorite news channels and videos in my laptop.
Not bad for the money.

Most other guests were quiet. Room had obvious drywall damage that wasn't fixed properly. Neighbor had loud bathroom fan they ran for hours. Like having a kitchenette. Everything in kitchenette worked.
Close to I-65, but lacks in general updates, sleep comfort, safety/security, and more.

I had worked all day and hit the road that evening on a trip to Nashville. After driving 4-5 hours in storms, after work, I arrived at the hotel after midnight. I called prior to arriving and let them know that I'd be late, but we'd be there. There were no issues here. When we arrived, there was limited parking in the front of the hotel. As I drove around the property, it got darker outside and started sending up red flags around security. There were a few folks hanging around in their cars, one person hanging around in the outside pavilion (after 12:30AM), and two guys got into their cars and sped off individually as we rounded the corner. I drove back around the front and went in to check in. We had to call in from our own cell phones (no hotel provided phone) to reach someone at the front desk and confirm our name to be let in. This seems to be standard practice, but usually there is a hotel provided phone. One of the things I noticed right away was that I wasn't recognized for my IHG status. I didn't really think much about this, but it really stuck out when I stayed at a hotel that didn't acknowledge that. The hotel commons (not the room) smelled like a combo of weed and Febreeze Downy. I would have rather they just let the weed smell set there, instead of trying to mask it with spray. Checked into our room - the overall feel of the hotel is dated, even though the listing says renovated. The rack by the elevator had appliances that you could borrow from the hotel - like a crockpot. I thought it was interesting, my wife was a little turned off by that. We opened the door and the room was steamy hot. Typically, most of the IHG properties either had the air running for you or a semi-comfortable temperature. This room was terrible. Mind you, I just worked a full day shift and then spent 4-5 hours driving, to stop in Louisville for sleep. I wanted to sleep when I hit my room. I've never walked into a hotel room this hot before, so I turned on the unit AC and was going to try to fall asleep. When I shut my door, it appeared that the bottom door lock was broken off. At 2:30 AM, sweating and barely any change of temperature in the room, I decided that we weren't staying here any longer. I called IHG, booked a reservation at Hillview, moved hotels, and then slept comfortable. I let the front desk know and she tried to get me another room, but I told her that I had already made other reservations. I checked out the hotel prior to on Google Maps and liked its proximity to I-65, which was a bonus. The hotel reviews seemed to be some of the better ones for that area. While I did consider the price point, thinking that maybe I was picking up a lower quality hotel, I figured it was a cheaper rate for a Wednesday night into Thursday morning stay, so wasn't a primetime rate. When I started looking at their reviews again, I saw others comment about their catalytic converters being cut off and the hotel not having security - reading these, coupled with our door lock being broken, the people hanging out around the property outside after Midnight, and the general feel of the area, I knew we were better off leaving. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Their marketing shots are great, but like anything, they're deceptive at best. The hotel is a little dated. This is by far one of the lower quality IHG properties that I have stayed at.

This hotel has been accommodating to my night shift schedule where many many hotels have not been, they are always kind, the hotel is clean, it’s very conveniently located for me. The efficiency type rooms are perfect for people traveling for work, they supply basic pots, pans, silverware, cups, small dish detergent, kitchen towels and paper towels. Makes it nice to not be eating out all of the time! They have nice shampoo/ conditioner and soap containers, beds and pillows are comfortable.

I was very impressed with the availability of the bigger size body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap. Upon arrival we were greeted by the check in staff and the cutest puppy. We're big animal lovers. Couldn't ask for a better check in experience.

You can hear every word spoken in the hallways, no ability to check out via app, could not find anyone at the front desk when I tried to check out. Waited 10 minutes until my Uber came and had to leave the keys on the desk. Never stayed at a Candlewood before but thought I would give it a try as it is now an IHG property. Won't stay at another Candlewood after this experience.
