Disappointed

Overall a nice newer hotel. Front desk at check in were very friendly. Suites are nice and spacious but there were food spills and cheese crumbs in the refrigerator. Hairs in the shower and when we arrived there was a empty case of beer cans in the hallway across from our door and it was still there the following day when we checked out. Don’t know if they are understaffed but housekeeping is definitely disappointing there.

Disappointing

First I would like to say that the staff was very nice and understanding and the facility is very nice. Flynn was especially helpful to us. Having said that, not only was it difficult to adjust the booking, the stay was almost comical.

Adjusting our booking. It appears that when you use your points during a promotion you cannot change it as you advertise. I can cancel I am sure, but all I wanted to do was come in a day later as we would not be getting to GR, MI until a day later (Sat instead of Fri). I called a few weeks prior to make the adjustment and after much struggle by the person on the phone was told I could not. When I asked what would happen when I did not show up until a day later would my reservation no longer be available. She was going to call me back the next day as she sorted that out. Since we did not connect I called back a few days later to ask again. Concerned about my reservation. Again, they could not but she called the hotel and said it was all worked out directly, but she could not give me a new reservation confirmation. Still worried, I called the hotel the day prior to our arrival and they checked my reservation and said I was all set. When we arrived that evening they could not find our reservation. We worked through a series of questions with Flynn and eventually he found us in an older reservation and said we already checked in! Now concerned there was someone else in our room he walked up with us to the room. No one was there and it appeared the staff must have checked us in the day prior. I have to say, it is disappointing that your system would not allow a drop of a day in my reservation and provide me with the appropriate confirmation which would have eliminated this frustration and initial worry.

Our Stay. I understand it is a new hotel and staffing is difficult, but after a few mornings of trying to have breakfast and meat, eggs and juices were very slow in restocking. People were standing around the cafe area waiting for quite a while. The juice machine and pop machine were not hooked up so we had children juice boxes of apple juice or milk (I am not a tea or coffee drinker). It did appear on the last day, when we tried again, it had worked itself out and there were eggs and meat again... still kids juice boxes though.
In addition, we would be gone all day and arrive back without fresh towels or the trash emptied. We had to stop each day at the front desk to ask for towels and soap as our soap dispenser was not working. Eventually we stopped for more trash bags as our trash was overflowing. The day before we left we asked a cleaning person in the hall if she would be cleaning room 305 and was told it was not on her list. During our entire stay our room was never cleaned or refreshed with towels.

My husband found it a bit comical that our reservation was lost just as it was almost on our 7 year anniversary of when we moved to NM and was staying at a Staybridge and arrived at 11pm to find out there was not a reservation for us and we planned to be there for months (ended up there for 7 months).

We love staying at the Staybridge hotel. Your staff at your facilities are wonderful. It is just disappointing that it is never easy to stay there as the processes of the breakfast cafe, clean rooms and towels and reservations seem a bit broken.

I would like to head back to that same hotel next year, IF I know that these issues have worked themselves out. I tend to travel alone and meet up with my cousin (also a IHG member) so it is very important to me that I arrive with a reservation and not having to find a place to stay late at night alone.

Nice pool, breakfast and courtyard

The room was nice. Bathroom a bit small. The air conditioning worked well and the courtyard was a nice option for good weather evenings. We loved the hot tub and pool area. Breakfast had good variety of items, both hot and cold.

The only issue we experienced was the showroom door opening too easily.

This a nice hotel with everything you need to stay to relax. The shopping mall across from the hotel and all activities close within distance areas. Overall, this is a good place to stay and enjoy.

Comfortable clean rooms

The rooms were clean and staff very pleasant. Full breakfast. My only complaint was the air conditioner is on a sensor, so if you are not in the room or sleeping, the air doesn't come on. We arrived and set the temperature at 73 and when we arrived back from a wedding it was 79 in the room. During the night it was hot and stuffy as the air didn't come on. We were told to flash a light at the sensor to activate the air. If it wasn't hot outside, it wouldn't have been a miserable night.

The overall looks of this hotel are really nice, the common areas were pretty clean. The bathroom in our room was gross, there were little hairs all around the sink from the previous guest shaving, there was a brown sticky substance on the bathroom area closest. The bathroom walls clearly needed to be wiped down and were not.
