A great place to spend the night

We have been staying at the Avid in Salem, Virginia for about four years now. It is our first stop whether we’re traveling to Tennessee or Texas. The hotel is very clean, the staff, friendly, and willing to assist, the beds are comfortable and the showers are great. We discovered two new bonuses this year. The first, the choice of firm or soft pillows and the choice is indicated on the flap of the pillow. The other is the ability to “ catch“ a show/app (such as Amazon prime video“ from your phone. I failed to mention that there is a nice choice at breakfast. We recently discovered an avid and Lebanon as well and stay there.

I’ve stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and have not been disappointed once. And I will probably stay there again at some point. Friendly staff, clean breakfast is OK and the location is great.
Totally recommended.

Enjoyed our stay much. Room was a little small. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Recommended places to eat which were close by. Hotel is right off the highway. Pet friendly and quiet. Breakfast was just adequate. Priced well for our stay. Definitely would recommend.

This is a very clean and well kept hotel. The room is modern and extremely quiet. The beds and linens are soft and comfortable. The breakfast is basic but adequate. Overall, a very lovely hotel that I would highly recommend.

The hotel staff was great. Was probably one of the cleanest rooms I’ve stayed in. Was easy on/off from 81. Kudos to IHG & Avid. Operate them all like this 1.

This was our first stay at an Avid lodging. For the price point, we believe it is an excellent option. The cleanliness, amenities, breakfast seletions, bedding, and bath linens were all very well done. It was quite a pleasant surprise to be honest. The staff were very kind, professional and cordial. If you don't want to pay for high end fluff and pampering at every stop, this is something that I highly recommend to you.

The hotel overall was great. Breafast on the other hand, sauage was hard on the bottom. The area is under constru tion. The hotel is really cose to 81.

My son plays baseball at Roanoke College so this is our go to hotel throughout the season. We have been staying here for the past 4 years and love it. Rooms are clean and the staff is great. Tim is the man behind the front desk!!!

Hotel was clean, rooms simple but nice. They take dogs for a reasonable fee. The breakfast was basic but nice, breakfast sandwiches and lots of other grab and go litems.
My only complaint is the water out of the sink faucet was a tricle and the shower water saving head was horrible, need a 30 minute shower.

Needed some documents printed for work. Stafff referred me to the business center. I’m unable to log into my email from a public computer. Explained this to them. They refused to print any documents for me. This is my 56 day in 2025 at an ihg property, first hotel to refuse printing documents. It was 6 pages. Didn’t help problem solve, said sorry, we don’t do that here.
