Best hotel in Honduras! In the Top 10 on the Continent!

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel location, despite the fact that my trip was not a vacation stay but was instead all work and business. The staff are all top-notch professionals and in particular I would like to recognize everyone who works at the reception desk. I am very grateful to them because they helped me with copying and scanning of documents, and in doing so, they saved me precious time. So, my thanks to Kevin, Erick, Doris, Amie, Jocelyn, Mary and all! You are the best!

I’m also impressed that the hotel manager, Mr. Muchnik, and the Assistant Manager, Mr. Banegas, are always making the rounds to make sure everything is running smoothly. They are friendly, approachable, and responsive to guest needs, so many thanks to them as well. Clearly, the hotel would not be in the top 10 on the continent but for their efforts and those of their amazing staff. Team effort truly pays off! And the staff all work as a team.

The Market restaurant is also very good, and I commend everyone who works there for their great service. Many thanks to Yesenia, Moises, Marisol, Don Nery, Esteffi, Guillermo and all for your professionalism and friendly service. The kitchen got most orders done right, except for the skillet which is no longer served sizzling hot on an iron skillet. That was very disappointing, as it is now served on a white ceramic platter and it’s cold by the time it gets to the table. That, plus it was swimming in oil both times that I requested it. Despite my requests that it please be prepared the way it’s previously been prepared, it’s now being made using tons of oil and does not come out sizzling, steaming hot. Please go back to making this dish the way you’ve made it in the past. When I last ordered the skillet back in September it was still being served sizzling hot on an iron skillet and with minimal oil, so I don’t know what changed between September and November? On the other hand, the tacos were perfect, as were most of the other dishes we ordered.

Last but certainly not least, I would like to recognize Dennis and Daniel at the Club – they are an incredible duo, and provide unsurpassed professional service. They are at all times polite, helpful, and responsive to guest needs. Thank you for keeping them on at the Club! It’s essential to have continuity of service because it helps that they know the tastes and preferences of each guest and that makes them highly efficient professionals. Thank you for the pan de yema which was baked to perfection every day! The green juice served with breakfast was spectacular! Please do not change that recipe! In fact, please share your recipe for the green juice with the SPS InterContinental, because I think they only use water and spinach – their juice has absolutely no taste (it’s like green-colored water).

There is one request that I will make of the hotel management, and that is that they please work with the COTATY drivers to come up with some uniformity in prices, because right now different drivers are charging different prices for the same service. For example, we took a couple of round-trip rides to Relaciones Exteriores. One of the drivers charged L500, and another one charged L300. Both drivers waited maybe a total of 15 minutes each, so I was confused by the price difference. This type of price fluctuation happened also on a couple of rides over to the UNAH, and frankly it’s just inexplicable. Please work with COTATY to come up with a suggested price schedule so that travelers have a better idea of what they are expected to pay for rides around the city. Thank you.

The staff at the Intercontinental in Tegucigalpa, Honduras went out of their way to make my family feel welcome. Many staff were fluent in English; those who were not were patient with my lacking Spanish skills or use of Google Translate. The hotel is beautiful and often has live music by the pool at night. The food is fantastic; the Market serves a buffet breakfast with lots of options. The Factory restaurant is a great steak-and-wine option. The menu by the pool is extensive: soup, salad, sandwiches, pasta, appetizers, and sushi. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Bottled water is provided free of charge in the room, but ice is only available by calling room service. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Pesima experiencia

Me aloje como siempre en el Inter de Tegucigalpa, esta vez reservando en el piso ejecutivo, obviamente con el costo adicional que eso genera.
Al momento del check in, me indicaron que estaba lleno ,y me dieron una habitación en el piso 6 ( no había reservado eso ) pero que utilizara los beneficios del piso ejecutivo.
En la noche me indicaron que podía cambiarme porque habían cometido un error, cosa que hice.
Al llegar a la habitación , en la refrigeradora había un frasco con salsa, delatando que la limpieza de la misma no estaba correcta y haciéndome dudar del status de controles que realizan ( esto ya me había pasado antes en el piso 7 ).
Luego, en la noche me levanto al balo y me resbalo cayendo de espalda, producto de una terrible gotera que había en el baño ( tengo fotos de la misma ), en la mañana utilice como pude el servicio porque no tenia tiempo de pedir la reparación.
En la mañana reporto el incidente.
Llego pasado el mediodía a la habitación, con ganas de hacer lo que no había podido en la mañana y si bien repararon la gotera, el baño estaba con las toallas en el piso, señal que las habían utilizado para secar la reparación y todo sucio, además de que el cuarto no estaba aun realizado.
Solo me pidieron disculpas....
Aclaro que paso dos semana mensuales en el hotel durante todo el año.
Pésima experiencia y peor servicio.
