This was my second stay at this property. We had a great experience when we visited two years ago, but unfortunately, this time was quite different. I booked the room online, and there was no mention anywhere that the pricing differed between pool-view and road-view rooms. I was traveling with my two kids (ages 10 and 11), and I would have gladly chosen the pool-view option had I known in advance.

The kids were disappointed when we walked into the room, so I went back to the front desk. They explained that pool-view was considered an upgrade. I even offered to pay the difference, and they told me they would contact me once a room was ready. However, I never received a call. With the delay, my kids lost interest in going to the pool, and we ended up just adjusting to the situation. It was disappointing to pay for a resort stay but not be able to enjoy the amenities as planned.

Additionally, I was told a $30 parking fee that wasn’t listed on the IHG site. I do appreciate that the front desk person waived the fee considering my surprise, which is why I rated the stay three stars instead of lower. Still, this experience makes me reluctant to stay at this IHG property again.

We chose this location because of the water park for our grandchildren. someone text us the day before we got there that the back pool was closed. I did not know that half of the water park was in the "back pool". That was the first disappointment. They put us in building nine. the parking lot was closed in front of our building for repair. The elevators did not work in building 7,8,9, ot 10. We were on the 5th floor so had to use the elevator and parking lot for building 11 and get up to the 5th floor then traverse our way to our building. When we were at the pool they were out of towels. There was maybe a dozen people at the pool that day. When we brought it up to staff they would just shrug there shoulders. The front desk was very little help either. I was so glad to leave that hotel.

Everything great except for spotlight shining into bedroom. I think spotlight was for building sign, they need to find an alternative for lighting.

Hidden Resort Fee, Poor Communication & Room Condi

I had two reservations and my stay was frustrating from start to finish. A week before arrival I got a text revealing a hidden $65 resort fee, which was never clearly disclosed. When I texted for clarification, agent Jessica gave confusing answers and was dismissive. Repeated calls went unanswered for two days until I finally reached supervisor Lina, who admitted the fee was hard to find and waived parking but couldn’t remove the resort fee, advising me to call corporate. Corporate refused to adjust it. To worsen things, room 914 had a rude housekeeper, bugs, and dirty sheets. This lack of transparency, poor communication, and unsanitary conditions are unacceptable, and I expect compensation.

We had multiple interactions with the staff and everyone was very polite and tried their best to direct us where we needed to go.
Housekeeping was excellent! Beds were super clean and comfy. Great sleep.

Always a great time when staying at the waterpark.

Our stay here was great as it always is. The room was very clean and presentable. The towels and bedsheets were also nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom and staying quarters were very spacious. The pool and waterpark were fun and enjoyable for my family. They also have a nice variety of food and drinks within walking distance on the property.

Very disappointed due to half of the outdoor amenities closed and this was not advertised at all ahead of time as well as 90% of the food options closed as well. Tried to contact corporate and the first person dropped the call after a 5 minute conversation and the second said she would contact the hotel manager but I've received no voicemails or emails about this.

My experience with your hotel was the worst I have had in the last 20 years. I am a retired military veteran and was embarrassed with your hotel condition. Embarrassed, I would have even considered your hotel for my family and made a reservation with you guys. I promise you it will not happen again. Your hotel is a dirty, moldy, smoked filled rooms and in need of floors to be repaired. I will post a review of my experience staying with Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites-Waterpark (your hotel).

I immediately checked out of your hotel after walking into the Holiday Inn room with my family. I knew it was unacceptable and my family would not stay. We called another hotel (Hilton) and left your hotel. Not even staying in it for one night. My goal is to alert all potential customers of this experience so they are warned as customers usually read reviews before making reservations. I paid in advance $151.00 (which was the first night stay), which locked in at least a week prior to my arrival. Then to find out I was being charged a $65.00 resort fee, for a resort that is currently under construction. Additionally, I was charged an accommodation fee of $75.00. Accommodations of what? It's a hotel, and of course it was not mentioned until I received my final bill.

I want all of my money refunded to me with the exception of the first night that was paid well in advance of my arrival. That is fair. The only charge I am willing to pay is your $29.00 parking fee. Off to your review page to alert all potential customers about your deplorable hotel conditions, highly misleading information and fraud practices. Shame of you Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites-Waterpark. You need to do better.

This hotels comfort, amenities, and staff were all amazing. The hotel was very clean. The beds were so comfortable. The Waterpark was great. The on site restaurants were convenient and tasty. The theater and arcade were great.

Positive - A comfortable hotel in a good location with friendly staff.
Negative- They're upgrading property, taxi dropped us at lobby (building # 13) was told check in is now at (building # 7). No offer to help grp of 7 over. No wifi for duration of 3 day stay, unable to make long distance calls despite calling reception. Ceiling fan and light kept malfunctioning reported it, a technician came. Worked briefly after but the problem reoccurred.

I usually leave great positive reviews, but is not the case this time. I had a 4 page review of our experience here, but they have a limit on the number of characters, so here are the lowlights of the review:

We had 2 bookings, and were moved to 6 different rooms within the first day of our 4 day stay due to room issues (details in the photos)

We were promised refunds and points to rectify the issues, but only got the refunds, no points issued.

I called to get a resolution, but was put through an ordeal like no other.

They lied about the whole exchange.

Summary: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION.

Horrible family experience.

Our family rented a 3br suite with full kitchen for the weekend and had 8 of us. The room was right next to the pool chemicals and the smell burned our eyes and nose each time we went out. There were 2 cups, 4 cup saucers, and 3 plastic forks, one pot, and that’s it. Fire extinguishers were 3 yrs out of date, sprinkler heads covered in paint and dirt, no soap or toilet paper besides the 1 half used. The ac would not adjust and was hot the entire stay. This place blows and we paid for 2 cars to park each day and had to park across at a Walmart and get a ride back because of construction. At no time did an employee at the front desk offer to help. This place owes us a complete refund but regardless will never stay at an IHG again.
