Which airlines are available through Flights Anywhere?
You can use Flights Anywhere to purchase airline tickets on virtually any airline, including major international carriers, low-cost airlines, and even smaller, local airlines. Typically you will be able to find the same flight options on Flights Anywhere that you would find on major travel booking websites. However, a flight must be available on the Flights Anywhere website in order for you to redeem points for a ticket.
Are there blackout dates?
There are no blackout dates with Flights Anywhere. While more points may be required for high-demand or peak season flights, if there is an open seat on an available flight, you can redeem points, or a combination of points and cash, to purchase a ticket.
Can I earn frequent flyer miles for airline tickets purchased with points?
Yes, in most cases. Frequent flyer miles may be earned on the vast majority of tickets that are available in the Flights Anywhere program. In many cases, you will be able to provide your applicable frequent flyer member information during the redemption process. Members should contact the applicable airline to verify this information for a specific flight.
What if I don't have enough points for a ticket?
If you don’t have enough points, you can use a combination of points and cash (the currency will vary based on where you live) to purchase your ticket(s). However, you must use a minimum of 20,000 points per ticket. After you have selected your itinerary, you will be able to use a slider calculator tool to determine the combination of points and cash you want to use to purchase your ticket.
What is the minimum number of points needed to redeem for a ticket?
Members must redeem a minimum of 20,000 points per ticket. For example, if you want to redeem for two tickets for the same flights (i.e. two passengers), you will need to use at least 40,000 points.
Who can redeem points (or a combination of points and cash) for an airline ticket?
Currently, the Flights Anywhere reward website is only available in English to members who live in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and the Eurozone countries. Please click here to see if Flights Anywhere is available in your region. We will be expanding the program to include additional regions and languages soon.
Where can I redeem points (or a combination of points and cash) for an airline ticket?
Currently, you can only purchase your ticket through our Flights Anywhere website. The IHG® Rewards Club Customer Care Centers are unable to redeem your points for flights at this time.
How is the point cost of a ticket determined?
The point cost is based on the total U.S. dollar amount that the airline is currently charging for that given ticket. The fares displayed on the Flights Anywhere website include all of the applicable taxes and fees, including an agency booking fee. These taxes and fees are similar to what you would be charged if you bought a ticket directly from a travel agency. See Flights Anywhere Terms and Conditions for details.
How is this program different than the Airline Rewards that IHG® Rewards Club offers?
The Flights Anywhere program gives you the ability to directly redeem your IHG® Rewards Club Points for an airline ticket on virtually any airline. The Airline Miles/Credits reward option enables you to convert your IHG® Rewards Club Points directly into miles/credits in the Frequent Flyer programs for select airlines. Both programs will continue to be available for all IHG® Rewards Club members.
