Located in Denver, Colorado and named after the state's most famous brewing company, Coors Field is the home field and stadium of the Colorado Rockies. It was the second baseball-only National League Park ever built, and the first major league park to include an underground heating system.
Blue Moon Brewery at the Sandlot
In addition to naming the park, the Coors Brewery Company also has a microbrewery and restaurant that sits immediately behind the stadium. The purpose of the Blue Moon Brewery is to test out new beer recipes on a small scale. The restaurant is attached to the stadium and has a wide variety of food dishes – from hot dogs to sushi, you'll probably find it here.
If you want to see a dynamic game of baseball, this is one of the best stadiums to come to. Because of the elevation and dryness of Denver's air, Coors Field is well known for its high rate of home runs. The stadium was built with an especially large outfield to try and compensate for balls traveling further through the less dense air, but it turns out though that dryness was the greater factor. Dry baseballs are physically harder and react better to bats, allowing them to gain more energy from hits.
While the stadium has installed a humid storage room for the baseballs to try and make the game more fair for teams, Coors Field consistently has a higher average number of home runs in a year than most fields – despite the large field. The size of the outfield also makes it easier for teams to pull off double and triple plays, making the baseball games played here more aggressive and energetic.
A Special Place
Coors Field has had an interesting history. For instance, several different dinosaur fossils were found while the stadium was being built, including a triceratops skull that weighed 1,000 lbs.
And the field continues to surprise audiences and players. In one season, Coors Field broke the record for most home runs hit in a ballpark – twice. The coldest baseball game on record was played in Coors Field. The Rockies were playing the Braves with temperatures hanging around at 23 degrees Fahrenheit.
Coors Field is two blocks away from Denver's light rail Union Station, and two exits off of I-25 (20th Street and Park Avenue) lead straight to the park. If you're looking to catch an exciting game, you've come to the right place!

While the hotel was going through some renovations, that can't really be complained about. I thought it may affect our stay, but it didn't. Only one elevator was working, but there never was a[More]
waiting line. That was the quickest elevator I've ever been in, it took us straight to the top floor in seconds. It was hilarious to see my "scared of heights" friend look down from the 22nd floor. The staff was extremely nice, the nicest, most accommodating staff I have ever met at a hotel. They talked to me and smiled each time I walked by and they let us check out hours later. I missed breakfast by 15 minutes, but Justin (I believe that was his name, I can't remember :( ) let me sneak in after it was closed and let me grab whatI wanted, even as I was barefoot and looked homeless. They made every effort to make me feel at home and like I was a guest of honor (I guess I kinda was since I'm an IHG Platinum member :P ). The price was a little high for such a small room, but I understand, this was in downtown Denver, we payed for the convenience. The beds were extremely comfy, I slept very comfortably. A tornado couldn't have woken me. Thanks, Holiday Inn! You have a great track record in my book. [Less]
