Cambodia is a charming travel destination, and this country in Southeast Asia doesn’t lack in what it offers to its tourists. Ancient temple sites are common tourist stops in Cambodia. The most famous of them all is Angkor Wat, which is also a great place for seeing a Cambodian sunrise. The Ta Prohm Temple is a quiet monastery but one with a very dramatic scenery. Because of its jungle-like setting, it was used in Tomb Raider, the movie and game.
Two other places are the Royal Palace and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum in Phnom Penh. The Royal Palace is the home of the king and queen of Cambodia. Its grounds are open to the public except when his majesty is there. The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, also referred to as the S-21 Prison, was once a school used to torture and interrogate millions of Cambodians and is now a monument to all those who died there.
