South Dakota Hotels
South Dakota may not scream tourist destination, but a trip to South Dakota is just what you need this year.
Mount Rushmore is the first attraction to see. Pictures don’t do this monument justice. Seeing the sculpture of the heads of four former U.S. presidents is something everyone should see in person, plus you can learn about how the monument was constructed.
Next on the list is Badlands National Park. Spend a night at one of their campsites and then explore through one of the richest fossil beds worldwide.
Two other neat places in South Dakota are Crazy Horse Memorial, the world’s largest mountain sculpture dedicated to the traditions and heritage of North American Indians, and the Corn Palace, which hosts concerts, sporting events and other shows year round. It’s decorated with corn, grass and grain to pay homage to South Dakota’s agricultural heritage.
