Our stay was pristine at Candlewood while visiting some family around Merrillville. My family & pet had a comfortable stay & were able to use all the amenities provided. I will definitely stay here again when I’m town!

EVERYTHING we needed the staff was right there on the spot.
I also made friends. If we go up there again, we will DEFINITELY stay there again.

The rooms were very clean, which is rare these days. It also looks like the contractors used decent insulation in the walls as there was minimal sound leakage from adjacent rooms.

The room was very comfortable, the TV was unusually small for the size room. Evening check in customer service could've been a little more pleasant. Day check in was very accommodating. Also appearance could be just a little more professional during Evening, it would go well with the hotel are my thoughts.

the room set up was good. let me work on a small desk. Wi-Fi worked well. Staff needs to thoroughly clean the room before check in. there was a condemn left on the floor.

Great hotel in a convenient location.
Plenty of dog-walk areas.
Room and hotel are very clean.
So much better than the competitor hotel that we left early.

The hotel is very nice. Having a full service kitchen is great. I do wish it had a complimentary breakfast, but the loaner option to borrow items such as crockpots etc… is very nice. I recommend this hotel if you plan on staying a while

Staff were exceptional, overall room cleanliness was good and flexibility of check-in/check-out was also good.
Shower/bath water pressure issues occurred. There was an issue with some bedding as well.
Price was on par with the rest of the competitors in the area, for budget hotels, but market price seemed artificially high, perhaps because this was the last big city on the outskirts of the Chicago area headed towards Indianapolis.
Excellent frontline evening staff makes up for lack of room service

Frontline evening staff, Tee and Kayla are phenomenal. They truly care about their guests and do what they can to make your day brighter which makes up for the policy of room cleaning to 1x a week, or sometimes not at all. I forgot their sign of not wanting room cleaned was to leave garbage outside door, I was taking it downstairs on my way out and had went back into my room one Saturday, (my cleaning day), to grab something I had left and my room for the day only to find my room had not been visited. Only complaint since I needed fresh linens only, easily fixed by washing them myself upon my return. All rooms have full kitchen which is needed on long term stays.

This place went above and beyond on every aspect of my stay. The bed is super comfortable, the overall coziness of the room is very inviting and the staff is so nice and informative.
