Good hotel close to Athens downtown, and close to the highway as wel. Overall good experience only lack of breakfast on the hotel does not to put 5 stars.

Fine example of a well run hotel. From the general manager to the desk /receptionist everyone was kind and helpful.

I had the best experience that I've had in a really long time at this hotel and Kellie peppers helped me in so many ways and she was extremely helpful and I absolutely loved her energy she was amazing.

Good Location but Property Needs Care

We felt that the staff were friendly, and the location was good, however, the rest of our experience was below expectations for an IHG brand property. Our room had a foul odor. Our room was quite damp. We found large items of debris on the floor, which indicated poor attention to proper cleaning. The elevator button was pushed through the face plate and responsiveness was somewhat unreliable. The property offers no ice machines, and sadly, while staying only one night, arriving in the evening and leaving in the morning, the ice machine in our fridge did not provide an appropriate amount of ice for our needs. The toilet had issues with loud and constant water running. We did bring the ice issue as well as the odour and dampness issues to the attention of staff. We were advised that they will put some dehumidifiers in the room after we leave, that we should use our fridge icemaker, and we were provided with an air freshener spray to use in our room during our stay. I did not request to change rooms and was satisfied with only staying the one night. In addition, some of the furnishings in the room were broken, and/or coming apart. Lastly, as soon as we exited the elevator on our floor, the strong scent of cannabis was overpowering. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience and we would certainly not book this property again in the future.

I booked with this hotel for my wedding weekend block & they were absolutely amazing! The staff made the process super easy & were very transparent with what was needed from me. During our stay the staff was super sweet to us & very helpful with anything we needed! Truly enjoyed our stay!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Candlewood Suites Athens, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed and genuinely valued. Every team member I encountered went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable.
The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful and efficient, swiftly checking me in and providing great recommendations for local activities and dining options. Housekeeping did an impeccable job each day, keeping my room spotless and well-stocked with fresh towels and amenities. They even took note of my personal preferences, which was a delightful touch!
Special shoutout to management and the entire front desk. Their kindness and attention to detail made my experience even more special.
Overall, the entire staff made my stay feel like a true home away from home. Their dedication to excellent service was evident in every interaction. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a welcoming atmosphere, top-notch service, and a team that genuinely cares about their guests. Thank you, for such an outstanding experience!

Night fire alarm and evacuation- glitch/ false alarm. Power glitch another day, elevator recalled - no one knew how to reset - 6tripsx4floors to checkout and leave room, mattress edge crushed. It’s time to refresh this property and train staff in operations for all shifts. Roaches, too

Room was spacious and bed comfortable but the AC/heat wasn’t always working properly so there was a constant odor that was unpleasant despite plugging in air fresheners and spraying the room

I would say overall it isn’t much to write home about, whilst the bed was comfy I had to leave it at 1am due to your fire alarms being sent off, the stove not working was also quite inconvenient as I couldn’t cook the food I had at the time. The people at the desk were awesome tho and definite keepers.
