Booked months in advance. Asked for 1st floor to accommodate a 19 year old handicap poodle who rides in stroller. Called monthly then weekly month of stay to confirm room preference and was told it was all set. No 1st floor when arrived, gapped flooring w dirt and torn desk chair. Asked for new room when available and a new desk chair. Was there 10 days and neither request was filled.
Dirty rooms, extremely small dog walking area

Came here because I had a dog. The first room I was given here was very dirty. There was dog hair and dog food leftover from the previous guests. Also I noticed a white powdery substance on the nightstand in the room that I believe was cocaine… I took pictures. I brought this up to the staff and they couldn’t change my room until the next day. Staying here made me feel dirty. If the nightstand wasn’t wiped down before I came into the room then how do I expect the sheets and the rest of the room to be clean? The dog walking area is also an extremely tiny patch of grass with an electrical generator in the center of it. I would estimate the little dog walking area is 10 x 15 ft. If you have a bigger dog you might need to walk it somewhere else with more space. In the future I will definitely be avoiding this hotel

We originally booked for 4 nights because we had no idea how long repair/restoration would take at our home. When we found out we would be out much longer, the front desk staff worked with me in adjusting our length of stay, which changed more than once. Truly a responsive and attentive team. Joelene and Nancy are great and extremely helpful and kind.
The building itself is a little dated but you can't beat the amenities the hotel offers. Also, the rooms are very comfortable and provide ample space. I needed a "work-from-home" area and was able to set up my work space nicely. You must pay for parking but it is at a cheaper rate than most other longer stay suites. I feel this is a great value and will recommend to others.

no room service, you have to stay 7 nights to get your room clean, and nobody on reception, park with charge, room good, good space and the kitchen suite is good. yo have to go to the lobby to change towels, or get a toilet paper.
Expensive with cero services.

I love this hotel when I visit San Diego. The rooms are large for my family the beds are comfortable and the staff is attentive. If you're looking for a quiet safe place to stay I highly recommend the Candlewood. The manager always goes out of her way to help me with my needs definitely recommend.
