Key historical events date back to InterContinental hotels. The Willard D.C. has been at the centre of political life in Washington since 1818. The first example of the Grand Hotel, Amstel Amsterdam (pictured above) reflects palatial luxury on the Amstel River. Located in the 9th arrondissement, Paris Le Grand is a stunning example of Napoleon’s love of grandeur. Wherever you travel, there’s a story to tell.
The finest city addresses come courtesy of InterContinental hotels. Vibrant, cosmopolitan destinations offer a sanctuary of luxury, from front-row seats over Times Square, New York to stunning spa pools overlooking Hong Kong Harbour. Prestigious city addresses include Sydney Harbour, Dubai, (pictured above) London Park Lane, Mayfair and Paris. Find your premium location in the heart of the city.
Pure tranquility and luxury define InterContinental halo resort destinations in some of the most beautiful places in the world. Immersive retreats include crystal clear water on remote South Pacific islands and lakeside seclusion in Vietnam. From kayaking to snorkeling, stargazing to spa treatments, emerge rejuvenated. Discover your personal paradise at any of our luxury resorts, like InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort (pictured above).
Part of our extensive worldwide portfolio includes breathtaking InterContinental Alliance® Resorts, located in Las Vegas. The Venetian (pictured above) and the Palazzo are independently owned and managed luxury resorts, with all the benefits of InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts customer status. Aligned with all our hotels and resorts, IHG® Rewards Club and InterContinental® Ambassador are both recognised and rewarded.
Our commitment to Responsible Business is being activated around the world. Using our Green Engage tools, we have helped our hotels and resorts reduce energy consumption by up to 25%.
Through IHG’s Shelter in a Storm programme, our hotels receive guidance on when and how best to respond when disasters occur. When a disaster occurs, funds from the IHG Shelter Fund can be allocated to enable our hotels to respond quickly and effectively to support our guests, employees and the local community with financial support, vital supplies and accommodation.
The IHG Academy is a collaboration between individuals, IHG hotels, corporate offices, local education providers and/or community organisations. The IHG Academy provides local people with opportunities to develop skills and improve their employment prospects in one of the world's largest hotel companies. Within a consistent framework, each IHG Academy is tailored to meet the needs of local communities as well as hotels around the world.
InterContinental Hotels Group understands that every customer has different needs and we aim to make our hotel facilities available and accessible to all of our guests equally. In rare instances where this is not possible we will endeavour to offer a suitable alternative. Our UK hotels offer a range of facilities for guests with a perspective on disability including the following:
Designated Blue Badge car parking
Accessible facilities – bar, restaurant and meeting rooms
Menus available in large print
Assistance dogs welcome
The following hotels have ceiling track hoist facilities in place:
Holiday Inn London – Kensington Forum
Holiday Inn London – Bloomsbury
Crowne Plaza London – Heathrow
Holiday Inn Cardiff City Centre
Holiday Inn Birmingham M6, Jct. 7
If requested in advance, one of the accessible guest rooms in the aforementioned hotels can be equipped with a hoist. It is important to note that the ceiling track in the bedroom is separate from that in the bathroom, so the hoist needs to be unhooked and carried through. Guests are advised to bring their own slings. For more information, please contact the hotel directly.
