When I made my reaervation I specifically asked for a room with an extra large tub. I was told this would be no problem. When we arrive at the hotel to check in we remind the person checking us in that we were supposed to have a room with an extra large tub. She thanked us for letting her know about the upgrade we paid for. We get to up to our room to find a standard size tub. After calling the front desk to then be transferred to a manager we are told that they only have a standard tub in all the rooms. Very displeased with our experience. Also the pillows were extremely flat and cause an uncomfortable sleep experience.

The room was clean and comfortable. My one complaint was that the outsides of the windows were extremely dirty and spotted....this made taking a picture of the beautiful view from our window impossible. Other than that, the only other minor thing was that there was no laundry bag in the closet...a minor inconvenience. We usually are given a choice of extra points or a snack of some sort when we check in IHG as Platinum Gold members. Although we saw bottles of water and a package of cookies at the priority check-in we used, none were offered to us.

We were only in town for one night and had a very nice stay at this hotel. The concierge and desk staff were all very helpful and friendly. There was an issue with the bill and was quickly corrected at check out. The room was clean and well stocked with amenities. Within walking distance to everything Chicago.

Great stay in Chicago this winter. Been coming to hotel over 10 years consistently and always a great stay. Recent upgrades to room very nice. Room and staff very nice with great views. Room very quiet. Super location.

Feb 16, 2015: Overall decent, however, we had a noisy HVAC heating unit, flat pillows, and smelly towels.
Do suggest that hotel addresses HVAC issue, removing flat pillows and replacing with fluffy pillows, and PLEASE put some laundry booster when washing towels; tend to stink.
For a luxury hotel, one would think that the giant pool area would have a Jacuzzi. But to our surprise, there wasn't. The pool area was beautiful and don't quite understand why you wouldn't have a hot tub for couples.

This facility is Magnificent which is fitting for its location on the Magnificent Mile in Chicago. A resort like feel in the lobby and the rooms and the staff are very attentive. Highly recommend anytime you are in Chicago!

I really like this hotel and stay a couple times a year. Very good location for shopping and dining. Book a room in the old part and make sure you look at the pool, even if you don't swim.
Raquel at the Ambassador desk was a great representative for the Company (sold me another year of Ambassador!) and made us feel welcome.
The brunch is always nice (but not cheap) and parking in Chicago is expensive ($65 / night)
Never had a bad stay here.

Extremely disappointed with the check in procedures. We arrived at noon and were hoping to get in at that time. They said we wouldn't be able to check in until the guaranteed time of 3:00. Unfortunately we were not able to check in until after 4:30 and only because we complained. We had actually spoke with the front desk several times hoping they had our room ready and indicated we could take anything available in the nicer tower. The front desk was absolutely unapologetic about the fact that it was past the guaranteed check in time. A huge disappointment! The staff made it that much worse because they just didn't seem to care because apparently this happens all the time. If you are only there for a day and would like to utilize the full day, do NOT book a room here. It literally ruined my 50th birthday which I was so hoping would be special. Additionally, I booked this online and every request I made was not honored.
