Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Michael2603 great service great Hotel would come again
This is a great Hotel, as first time visitors to Berlin we could not have picked a better location. The whole experience was wonderful, from the hotel chauffeur pick up at the airport to the quick check-in service. The suite we had was excellent (given that my wife and son came with me) we did not feel cramped in the suite. We also found all the hotel staff both friendly and most helpful, nothing was to much trouble.
One of the reasons why we had such a good time in Berlin (apart from the many attractions) was the Hotel and its staff. We intend to return again to Berlin to spend a little longer next time in this wonderful city.
If we had been famous or royalty the service could not of been any better. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Berlin.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MatthiasD Excellent stay in Junior Suite!
We had a two night stay at Intercontinental Berlin and overall we were very happy with our stay. The Check-In was very smoothly and although I don't have any status with Priority Club, we received an upgrade for a Junior Suite. The Suite is very nice, with modern furnitures and a nice coffee-machine. We especially liked the bathroom and its amenity kit. If there is anything I would criticize about the hotel it is its unfavorable location with regards to the typical tourism destinations in Berlin. Nevertheless we had a memorable stay at the Intercontinental Berlin and we will carefully consider going there again the next time we will visit Berlin.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by lunakdw Poor restaurant!!!
we have booked a table at the Hugo's Restaurant. Beside the fact that we were not too excited about the dining experience at all, the service was poor! Only one example: I have ordered a soft drink when they served the main course, the drink arrived at my table after I finished the main course. And to make it worse, they have served it in a broken glas! I will address our dining experience in a seperate mail to another GM of your premises in another country, because I did read reviews in the net and I saw very unsatisfying answers from the GM of Intercontinental Berlin!

We stayed 6 days as part of our vacation, and really liked this hotel. We had a suite; the room was bright with lots of windows, and functionally, the room was perfect: wonderful shower, lots of convenient storage, great bed. Aesthetically, the hotel is very lovely. The breakfast was the best of all the places we stayed on the vacation -- just fantastic. I'd come back just for this. The location is not central to most tourist attractions, but we loved the location. The Tiergarten, the large park that the hotel is next to, is a luscious green sanctuary with birds singing everywhere. It is a wonderful 30 min. walk through this park right to the Brandenburg Gate. We did this walk almost every day. My only complaint is that the hotel is oriented strongly to business customers. Meetings are always going on, and company banners are displayed right in the lobby which detracts from the experience.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Not as good as other Intercontinental Hotel
I've been to more than 15 Intercontinental Hotels in the world. This one should be in the lowest 25% of them. The location is not in the best area, not very close to the major tourist attractions. The property is not as grand and as luxury as the counterparts in other cities like HK or Toronto. The waiting time for both reception and concierge is exceptionally long during the morning peak hours.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by O413 All around great experience. Staff, Room & Location meet expectations
First visit to Berlin and stayed 3 nights at the Intercontinental and 3 nights at another 5 star hotel in the Mitte / Museum Island area in order to get a feel for the city.
Preferred the Intercontinental for its location and quality of staff and will return on future visits. Concierge team did a great job helping us explore the city and find enjoyable restaurants.
Look forward to future visits.

Stayed 3 nights at Interconti Berlin in May 2013. I highly recommend this hotel, it´s very clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. Especially the excellent breakfast is remarkable.
During the first night, I had to change room, as the A/C - although it was turned off - made an annoying sound. This could have been detected earlier by the housekeeping staff.
Only two more small details that could be improved: The Concierge was not aware of the timeframe in which parking fees are asked on the streets around the hotel and the garage costs 26.- Euro per day - which is a bit high. 15-20 Euro would be OK, but 26 will not put a smile on a guests face.
Beside this - as mentioned - I can really recommend this house and I will definitely check in here again when coming back to Berlin.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sherbert 10th wedding anniversary success
I chose intercontinental after failing to get into the Ritz-Carlton to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, but we were not disappointed.
For over a week in advance I was in regular dialogue with the knowledgeable and responsive Mario from the concierge desk. He helped shape the ideal romantic weekend before we had even arrived.
A bucket of bubbly in the room, a set of bicycles for a tour through Tiergarten and lunch at the Reichstag were unforgettable.
While the Intercontinental is absolutely huge - and very US/corporate-style on the ground floor during the week - the room was great, as was the pool area, Zoo terrace cafe and the amazing breakfast spread. And all priced noticeably below any other European capital.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AndreasSN Excellent Hotel
Stayed 3 nights and I must say that they truly offer 5 star accommodation with 5 star service.
Everyone at the hotel really takes care of the guests. We felt very welcome and taken care of.
The hotel is located at the Tiergarten and only a short walk from the busy street of Kurfürstendamm. You can almost reach everything by foot in 15-20 minutes. If you prefer the bus it stops just outside of the hotel. The rooms are refurbished and modern, although I think they could have added a few more power outlets in the rooms. The bathrooms either come with a shower or a combined bath and shower. You don't hear the other guest that much, that goes for the street noise as well.
The hotel offers 2 restaurants and 1 bar. We dined at the L.A. Cafe and enjoyed the food atmosphere and service.
To get the most out of your stay at the hotel I can highly recommend to do add the club lounge access. In a separate area you can eat your breakfast in peace, have a lunch snack or some evening drinks.
We choose this hotel based on previous Intercontinental experiences and once again were treated with the excellent service that comes with the brand. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed for four nights and I would say that this stay would be the best stay among of all the Intercontinental . All the members of staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very nice. Room was well prepared every day and the amenity was excellent. I would like to come back to you when I come to Berlin next time. Thank you for all at the Intercontinental Berlin.

The staff at The Intercontinental made our visit to Berlin a trip that we will never forget. Always happy to help and we received excellent service through out our stay. The rooms were of the highest quality and the hotel is nicely situated for touring the city. I spend most of my working week staying in hotels, so it is nice to find one that makes you feel at home.

I was at the hotel with my wife and two daughters from March 19 until March 23, 2013. Great hotel, comfortable room (mini-suite) and excellent service. I think the best part of the stay was the club on the 8th floor which had refreshments, meals and drinks throughout the day and evening, which you don't see with most other hotels.
I highly recommend this property!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RichardAndorra You get what you pay for
I hope the title does not seem too callous for which I apologize.
I have stayed at this hotel four or five times now and each time in a different wing and room type. This time I stayed in a club room at the top floor, close to the lounge and admittedly it does differ from other category rooms in size and quality.
The room itself was quite large with a bathroom / walk-in closet about the size of another room. The room and furnishings clean. Windows opened a little which is always nice. Excellent lighting with some thought put into it. Lighting in bathroom OK for shaving, perhaps a bit soft for the ladies applying make-up. Mattress was a bit hard; a duvet under the bed sheet or of course a pillow top mattress would be the ultimate in comfort. Amenities were replaced daily, bed sheets changed daily without asking and a fresh bottle of water placed on the table every day. Mini bar refreshed twice a day. Room was noticeably *cleaned*, not just arranged to look like someone was there.
Something that definitely needs to be mentioned is the Club Lounge access for those who buy it. Meals: there is a full breakfast service where you can order a hot egg dish, pancakes (disappointingly not fluffy North American style) and an impressive selection of breads, cold cuts, cheeses, fish, crudités, salads etc. Croissants with lox, cheeses, hams, veggies were to be had all day as well as some yoghurts, and desserts. During lunchtime you were treated to a hot soup with a nice selection of sandwiches or said croissants. In the evening you had a choice of a meat, fish or veggie warm snack/sampler in addition to the above. There is a computer (a Mac) with a printer available and also a private conference room which can be booked if free.
I found the staff to be very accessible, friendly and helpful. A smile goes a long way.
One thing I would like to recommend is the spa area on the ground floor to the right of the reception. There’s a swimming pool and a small gym. What I can recommend above anything is the massage services. The RMT demonstrated his professionalism and extensive training. (Thank you, C.)
I did not use the restaurants, bars etc. so cannot offer any feedback on that.
Finally a few words about location. The property is next to the aquarium and park. It is within walking distance to the KaDeWe department store which is said to be the biggest in Europe after Harrod’s. Equally close is the underground station which gets you anywhere in Berlin, so the location is quite excellent.
I don’t really like giving full 5 stars to all options but in this case fell it is justified. Happy travels and treat yourself to something good and try the Club Rooms. Unless you’re on a tight budget they may be worth the experience.

I've had a wonderful stay at Berlin Intercontinental during a weekday in March. The lady who checked me in (whose name I unfortunately forgot# was very pleasant and extremely professional. Once I have mentioned I was a platinum member, I was upgraded to a junior suite, with a complimentary drink from the minbar as well as a few snacks e.g. fresh fruit and chocolate. It was a wonderful touch
The room was decorated with contempary flair. All the modern facilities such LCD TV, rain drop shower etc were there as one would expect from intercontinental hotel group. The room was very quiet with comfortable bed.
Had dinner at the michelin star restaurant on the 14th floor, Hugo's. The food was wonderful but a bit on the pricey side #5 course fish menu - 120EUR per head)
Overall a very pleasant stay and would recommend this for anyone planning a trip to Berlin.

Courteous housekeeping service from morning to evening averaging 2~3 times a day.
Rather surprised that there is no safety box in the room or did not locate one in my room (Rm# 804) having spent 6 nights there. I was also shocked that my leftover Euro coins (lose changes around 4 Euros) were all taken from the island table when I returned to my room

Was on executive floor----Service , courteous, pleasant and professional. Great plcae for quick business meets. Perfect. Had dinner in your 14th floor restaurant, unbelievably good. Not what you would expect in a Business/conf. hotel. That was an experience in fine dining even down to the wine list . Your staff guided us toward good value , lovely wines. I am from N. calif. near wine country so I sort of know...that restaurant punches way above it's weight//promotion. Would almost come back just for the food! All in all 100 point stay...Thanks...

I have been a fairly regular guest here since 2005,it was love at first visit. The staff have mostly been kind and helpful, though I do miss the ladies at the ambassador desk that used to be opposite reception.
Since the refurbishment of the Westwing I always ask to stay there. It is a nice mix of the somewhat traditional building with lots of carved woods and very modern furniture and bathrooms.
Having a Nespresso machine,a good selection of English speaking TV channels and free wifi only adds to the experiance.
The beds are very comfortable with lovely fluffy duvets, sadly I don't like German pillows but there is a pillow menu to cure that.
The refurbished health club looks very nice with friendly staff when I went for a look, hopefully I will have time to try it on my next visit in a few weeks.
The breakfast buffet has a truly enormous range of foods, from differant countries and continents! Mostly though I prefer to have mine from room service, which is also very good.
Some negative points are the last two visits I have been unable to reduce the heat in the room, same room both times (1217). Also there have been problems with the lift and fire alarms.
I have tried a couple of other 5* hotels in berlin but they seem more like a four in comparison.
