I have been staying at the Intercontinental in Boston specifically for approx. 1 year now and certain stays have been better than others. I have written a review in the past regarding my less than average experience and I did receive a call and it was addressed.
Most recently I stayed in Boston for two weeks in a row staying 3 nights each time. To start off I was NOT greeted as an Elite customer which probably explains why I did NOT receive the coupons for free Boot Camp or any other offers normally provided upon check in. Maybe I expected too much considering I was staying for 4 days each week but the service was worse than if I had stayed the usual 1 night. In addition I got a city view both times with AERO upgrade nor was it even mentioned so I have to believe they didn't realize my IHG status.
I have to say it is really disappointing that I am there at least every other week and someone every week and I am greeted as a customer that is there a lot - yet I feel there was no reason fro me to apply for the IHG Rewards card bc I have seen NO benefit in addition to this being a "Preferred Chain" for my company. I would be happy to discuss if anyone is interested in more information.

Came into South St station and walked to hotel. Able to walk to North End, Fanuel Hall, etc. Cabbed it to Symphony Hall. We had a lovely time. Hotel is clean, comfortable and very welcoming...hope to return again....

This hotel was quite a disappointment. Great location for what I needed to do in Boston but wish it was a better hotel. The bed was a mix of very soft and hard at the same time, which I know sounds weird but trust me not great for my back or my sleep. Neither my wife or I could sleep through the night. Not only that but our room was across from the service staff door which was slammed shut about every 15 minutes and was very loud. Not only the door but other people on the floor were very noisy, Im not sure if the walls were thin or their voices and antics just carried down the hall. Ive stayed at several 4 and 5 star hotels and this one was very un helpful. Ive never had to pay a fee for a late check out or have to purchase water.The bathroom was not private at all the windows that closed off the bed area and the bathroom were very un-nessasary. Over all not pleased and probably won't return to that hotel, I think its worth the cab fair to stay in another part of Boston.

Stayed at hotel for a ralaxing one night getaway in city after a Bruins game and dinner. The open concept bathroom window behind the headboard of the bed was different and caught my wife off guard. She likes privacy in the bathroom and there was little. The bathroom light goes directly out to the bed which is very disturbing if you are sleeping or want darkness. There should be a night light by the toilet.
The hotel fire alarm went off at about 11pm as a result of flooding water in front of the hotel from a clogged drain. They made announcements to every room at very loud volume every 3 minutes for about an hour. This was torture as they said the same message each time. The only options were to sit through it or get dressed and leave the hotel. It eventually stopped and we went to sleep.
The next day upon checkout there was no mention from any hotel employee about this and when asked about it they all said that it was protocol and did I enjoy my stay. I am still shocked that they were so smug and insensitive about it. They all went about their business like nothing happened.
Yes, it was bad luck, and yes there are procedures, but the way the Hotel handled it during and after was quite insensitive to the guests. I heard this from other guests as well.

Front desk, Annika and during my last visit Ophelia were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was burned during my Dec visit and scrambled eggs were not hot- just warm during my Jan visit. Bacon was greasy and I left it on the plate.
Breakfast should be examined more closely.
I will be a regular business gust every month.

We reserved several rooms for a family outing, the Hotel Staff was outstanding, We had several family members coming and going. All the members of my family had nothing but great reviews of the Bellman,Front desk and Room Services.... We had a great stay!!

This was a business trip with kids in tow. Location is very convenient if you have kids with you for the weekend. It is in easy walking distance to the New England Aquarium, the Boston Children's Museum and the Boston Tea Party. Restaurant had decent Children's Menu and the adult food was delicious. Staff could not have been nicer. One way street at entrance was a little bit of a challenge, but staff got us cabs when needed almost immediately. Our room had a great, open view of the river.

An overnight stay during a snowstorm and cold spell, on a business trip. Usually, it is a chore. But I had a leisurely dinner, a typically Belgian meal--mussels, chips and salad--then went to bed early as it began to snow. Slept ten hours! I never sleep ten hours! Very pleasant surroundings. Nice gym, too.

Our experience at this hotel was very good - a bit disappointed that there was no water bottles in the room or free wifi upon our arrival considering the cost per night.
I think there should be 2 complimentary water bottles each night.
We found that free wifi was available to IHG members only by standing by someone at the front desk and overhearing their question - then probing us to ask.... it should have been mentioned or included again with the cost per night.
Besides that - the hotel was friendly and accommodating and very clean

this is the second year in a row we have spent our anniversary at the Boston Inter Continental Hotel. A wonderful experience from the front desk staff of to the restaurant and room service staff. A wonderful experience all around love the place!

We have stayed at Intercontinental Boston several times and truly enjoy it. I am a Platinum Ambassador and was upgraded to a fine corner room with water view.
The service and experience with the Ambassador Club was excellent as usual. We even brought our own Birthday cake in for one of our children who was in town and enjoyed cake and gifts in the Club.
The one notable poor experience was New Years morning breakfast in the restaurant. Yuck.
The buffet was very ordinary highway motel type of buffet and the food was not hot. And breakfast for 2 was $62.00. Our first and last breakfast there.
We have eaten at the restaurant for lunch before and had a great meal.
We did have room service once this time and that was fine.
Overall, we love the hotel and I came home and reserved a suite for my associate and his wife, as a birthday treat.

I just have to say for the price this is the best room I have stayed at in Boston. Bath is amazing so clean and comfortable with a beautiful tub that opens to the room, great for couples. Staff was great. I highly recommend this hotel- I may never stay anywhere else in boston!!

Staff was very attentive, switched us to connecting rooms on a higher floor when one became available and always greeted us with a smile. Justin at the front desk explained our room package and adjusted the bill when there was a discrepancy. thank you!

The Intercontinental Boston is a bit pricey, but it is the embodiment of that old expression "You get what you pay for." From the valet parking, to check in, to the beautiful rooms, to the convenience to so many Boston attractions and restaurants, you can't beat it. We also upgraded to the Intercontinental Club Lounge, which entitled us to access to the 12th floor lounge any time, day or night. The lounge featured a complimentary (and delicious) breakfast, high tea, and cocktail hour every day. The hotel has a very European style feel to it, and given that we encountered many European visitors there, it makes sense. I highly recommend the Intercontinental Boston.

Only property I have visited where there was no acknowledgement of Rewards Membership loyalty. No upgrade, goodie bag, drink coupon, breakfast, newpaper - anything recieved at other sites. A bit disappoining, especially as this was a Saturday night. Also, even after paying $44 to park for the night, car was not brought to front door. Had to go to garage to get it.

My husband and I stay Christmas eve and we had an amazing experience at the Intercontinental. I book the hotel for a birthday surprise for my husband and I mentioned at the time of my check in at the front desk and the employee set up a nice surprise for him. They send a wine bottle and a cake for him without any charge and he was so happy that the did that, it was so sweet!!! Thank u! !!!
Every employee was very nice and helpful. I will recommend this hotel to everyone because is worth it! very clean rooms, nice atmosphere, the bed is so comfortable!!! I just love everything.
And I have to said my husband had and amazing experience at the spa. He says is very relaxing and professional!!

My stay at the Intercontinental Boston was, by far, the best hotel experience I've ever had. To put it simply: this place is amazing. The hotel is modern, spacious, elegant, and luxurious. No other hotel in Boston compares, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a better Intercontinental anywhere. The IC Boston has earned every single one of it's 4 diamonds.
Besides being a beautiful hotel in the heart of Boston, the service provided is first-class. From the second I arrived at the door, to the moment I checked out, I was treated like the most important person staying at the hotel. Every employee I interacted with was friendly and professional, and tried to make my stay special. I can't thank them enough for that.
The rooms definitely have to be the biggest in Boston. They're huge!! I was fortunate enough to get upgraded to a suite, and it was breathtaking. No matter what room you book, you will not be disappointed by the size. The hotel also offers several restaurants and bars, a massive fitness center, a pool, and a top-rated spa. Also, the Club Intercontinental on the 12th floor is great, if you are given access to it (usually only the elite members in the IHG rewards program, or at the hotel's discretion). They provide food and drink offerings all day, which is very convenient.
If you are planning a trip to Boston, the Intercontinental Boston is the only hotel you should consider. It was truly a great experience, and I can't wait for my next stay.

We came up from NYC to participate in the Re-Enactment of the Boston Tea Party and decided to stay at the ICH and we made the right choice . The Hotel was literally right on the Harbor where the re-enactment was going to take place and we were walking distance to some great attractions. We visited the Children's Museum , the Tea Party Museum , and the Shops at Faneuil Hall . We had a room over looking Boston Harbor where I explained some of the History to my son. The staff was great and helpful , the view was terrific and we had the perfect stay. Although we wish there was a family oriented American Fare type restaurant in the beautiful Hotel Lobby - we had fun ordering the great room service.
Would Definitely Come Back .

We chose your hotel because of its location near the South Station. It was a gloomy Sunday and all my husband wanted was a place to watch the football game. I wanted to find out how long it would take to walk to the train station for an 8 am train. We both fell in love with your hotel. Everyone at the hotel from the front desk to the bartender and the restaurant staff were all helpful and efficient. Your hotel is so beautiful that I can't wait to book a room sometime in the summer to take advantage of the Seaport District. The room itself (we chose the city view) was comfortable and so laid out that it felt quite spacious. The pillows were comfortable and the bed seemed the perfect blend of not too hard and not too soft. I particularly loved the small narrow focus beam lights by the bed. The light in the closet was a nice touch too. The sliding windows into the bathroom enabled me to watch the morning news on the television while I brushed my teeth!!

We were very pleased with the accomodations and wonderful amenities. My husband & I agreed our bed was the most comfortable one we'd ever slept in! The staff was helpful, including providing immediate instructions on how to get from hotel to wedding venue. A pleasure all around!

Had a wonderfull stay at your facility. We took advantage of the 12th floor Club offering, and it was Outstanding ! ALL of the staff were friendly, personable, and very accommodating to our requests. We had some dietary concerns/restrictions, and the staff went above and beyond expectation to ensure that everything was correct. Kudos !!
I would highly reccommmend your facility for sure !

Overall good hotel and stay here, very convenient location for downtown Boston, beautiful decor and location.
Couple of minor things didn't work out for me - bed sheets were itchy, shower water spray holder came off, also for whatever reason ppl were leaving their rooms at 5am banging the doors. A few rubber stops might cure the disturbance...
I would recommend it overall

On check-in, we were upgraded to a nice, corner business suite with a view of the Fort Point channel. The room, the bed and the bathroom were fabulous. The lobby was very impressive. The staff was friendly and helpful.
There are only two negatives. The breakfast is very expensive, so we ate locally. And the location, while lovely, is some distance to any of the main attractions, such as Faneuil Hall, Boston Common, theater district, etc.
One tip: if you stay on a weekend, you can park in the garage next to Smith and Wollensky on Congress St for $10.

IHG thinks The Willard is the Jewel in the crown but we disagree. For us it's Boston, When we arrive at the Ambassador desk we are greeted by the Ambassador Manager who knows us by sight and always helps to make our stay wonderful. When we leave we always look forward to our return in 2-3 months.

This was my first time at the Intercontinental Boston and I will never stay anywhere else in Boston again! It is an elegant property with the most helpful staff. The room was set up wonderfully. The outlets were convenient, lighting was perfect, plentiful counter space in the bathroom as well as closet space. The bathroom was magnificent!

My husband and I treated ourselves to a night at the Intercontinental with IHG Rewards points and were more than pleased with our choice over some of the other IHG hotels in the city. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't give at least a bottle of water for being a rewards member, especially since all of the cheaper hotels always hand out a little something.
The rooms have been recently updated, linens were clean and comfy, and the bathroom was fantastic (even has a separate tub and shower). A fainting couch was located at the foot of the bed, which I thought was a classy touch, and maybe it was just the way the building was constructed, but the blackout curtains covered the entire window plus part of the wall, so at 9am we still had no idea it was light outside. This was a major perk for me. Some of the staff seemed a little snooty, but maybe I've just lost touch with the Boston "attitude". The bell hops at the luggage storage area were very pleasant and friendly, which made up for any other lack of friendliness. Only wish we had time to check out the swimming pool!

I enjoyed every second of my stay at the Intercontinental, Boston. This hotel is in a great location on the water front, has all the amenities that I expected from a 5 star hotel. Needless to mention the comfortable bed, bath tub, cleanliness, and a super friendly staff! Overall I recommend this hotel to my friends and family. I truly had a great experience here :)
