Insider Tips

Most restaurants close between 2.30pm and 7pm. Try to book your table in advance, especially in gourmet restaurants. The local food is a mix of French and Italian.
In classic French style, the hotel’s Belle Epoque façade overlooks the Bay of Cannes, a celebrated seaside destination that prestigious guests have enjoyed for a century. With its own exclusive beach restaurant and pier offering a host of water sports, this elegant Cannes hotel is ideally located on the Boulevard de La Croisette, famous for the Cannes Film Festival and designer shopping. Luxury suites overlook the Mediterranean Sea, and island boat trips are easily arranged.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A true classic This is the landmark in Cannes. It was nice to see everyone taking pictures of this hotel as I was walking in as a guest of the hotel. Rooms could use an update, but I rather liked the old school charm. Staffs were very friendly. Sylvia (I think) who checked us in was very nice and professional. She apologized that the room was not ready for us when we tried to check in at 11AM, and called maid service to see when they will have my room ready (and to hurry it up). When I retuned at 12:30, the room was ready with nice fuit basket and water (you get that as an Ambassdor Member, which I highly recommend). I was using points to stay during their busy season, so I was afraid that they would treat me as a peron non grata, but everyone was super nice. I had breakfast there (42 Euro, which was expensive, but worth the money to sit on the terrace) and it was a good breakfast buffet. I also had some drinks and fruit plate at the bar, and while expensive, service was nice. People complain about this hotel charging for everything (which is true), but since I knew that already, and was well prepared, I had a great stay. If you want to go to the beach, there is a nice public beach to the East of the hotel about 1 km away (the ones by the main harbor was too crowded and somewhat dirty). August 25, 2015
