This is a lovely hotel and yes it's expensive but if you are traveling to Cleveland Clinic for health concerns it is the most comfortable way to stay.

Most of the time, this hotel feels like your home away from home when visiting the Cleveland Clinic.

We had to stay at this hotel due to a complication after surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. The front desk staff was not very friendly nor helpful, but once in the room we were relaxed. The rooms are amazing and have everything you need.

My recent stay was absolutely terrific. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean and up to date. The staff was courteous and gave great attention to detail. I well definitely stay the the InterContinental again.

Having stayed at a few properties of this chain I expected the InterContinental Cleveland to live up to the standards one can find e.g. at the InterContinental Tambo in South Africa. Sadly, nothing can be further from the truth. The Intercontinental Cleveland (Carnegie Ave) is a rather unexciting affair. The check in worked well enough, although it was lacking the warm welcome one would find at other locations. We got an upgrade to a junior suite (which however had a welcome letter for another guest - wonder what happened to them). The rooms are ok, bit clearly show their age, in particular the bathrooms. The showers are inconvenient - shower heads are only about 6ft above the ground, and not particularly potent. Amenities are substandard including a tiny tabletop ironing board - have not seen that for a long time. The hotel is located right in the middle of Cleveland Clinic infrastructure, and many clients come to have treatment at the clinic. However, do staff members really have to ask guests if they come to visit the clinic, with a kind of pitiful glance? Don't wonder about the little sign in your room warning of biohazard, offering free containers for your used needles. However, given that room cleanliness (it seems they did not bother to even vacuum during the tow days we stayed...) is far from spotless, which, given the biohazard warning, makes you hardly feel comfortable. The beds are ok, but the available pillows were not comfortable. Pillow menu anyone? The upside - the rooms are very quiet. The restaurant is ok, but with a diner like setting, and you might find the remnants of the previous' guests meal under your table (in our case snow peas....). The breakfast is substandard, especially for the price. the buffet consisted of lukewarm fare, frozen and re-thawed pastries, industrial bread (part of it clearly dry and leftover from the day before, and the salmon had been either frozen and micro-waved, or was also a leftover from the day before, given its dry and discolored edges. The cappuccino was ok one day, cold the second day (the second edition was better, although more like an insipid coffee with a tiny bit of foam, and had never seen a real espresso machine). The omelets are good though - kudos to the staff member preparing them fresh. Overall - too little for too much money.
