We stayed over Memorial Day Weekend for a wedding in Milwaukee. I was impressed by the friendly faces I met at the front desk and to the man who helped me bring my luggage in. We reserved the Salon C meeting room for bridesmaids to get ready in. I was disappointed that the room was not set up at 9:00 when we arrived because I was told it would be set up at 8:00. We stood around while a couple of guys brought in furniture and were delayed approximately 30 minutes. This was inconvenient as we had hair and makeup folks ready to start at 9:00 but no place to set up. The guys helping to set up were very apologetic and I felt bad as they seemed unaware any set up was needed. I gave them my copy of the room rental agreement which had the description of how the room should be set up. Additionally the thermostat was set at 62 degrees and it took a while until the room warmed up some. The guy who helped set up the room was again very apologetic and helpful. He brought complimentary champagne and OJ as well as some granola bars to the room which was appreciated.
Our guest room was a standard room. I thought the size of the room was very generous! It was clean and comfortable and I wished we had had more time to spend in it. I loved the big windows.
Of note, my husband witnessed some sort of photo shoot on the 6th floor elevator lobby where a woman in lingerie was having photos taken by 4 photographers on Sunday. One of the photographers asked my husband's friend if he would pose for some of the pictures and he obviously declined. I don't know if this incident is related to the hotel or just some guests acting inappropriately in a public space. This would have been particularly awkward situation for families with kids to witness.
Again I was very impressed with how helpful and friendly the staff are at this hotel. I would like to thank whoever helped to set up the salon c at the last minute as he worked hard to get things in order for us when they weren't.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BobMadison nice common space, rooms need updating
The hotel is in a great location and the lobby, bar, restaurant are all very nice. However the rooms badly need to be updated! The furniture is old, the bathroom is small, old tub/shower etc.
Good value hotel as long as you are ok with outdated rooms.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bon1425 Excellent Service and Location
Location, Location, Location - for our weekend away, this is where we want to be. Steps away from Water Street, Old World Third, public transportation, etc., etc.
The staff was extremely professional and attentive to your needs.
The restaurant for the breakfast in the AM was wonderful food and good service.
The lobby bar was a good bar with very compatible prices to the surrounding area bars which is refreshing.
The only downside is that if you are a regular Intercontinental guest, this property is not as luxurious in the guest quarters area i.e. dark hallways, just sufficient room. This area is not the usual, just a little over the top, that you are used to.
All in all, we would stay again as the hotel staff made the most of the property that they have been given to present!!
Shout out to Benjamin that did an excellent job anticipating our needs and making sure we had anything else that we required.

No directions with check-in. Had to ask for Breakfast coupon even though we purchased the Breakfast for a Buck room. Was not told how to get to room without asking. Purchased the room upgrade, but did not get it, but was still billed for it.

Stayed in a fantastic corner suite overlooking the city and water. The design of the room had a unique modern approach to it. Loved the bathroom counter space and dual shower system.
Had a chance to grab a few drinks at Clear before heading to a nearby rooftop wedding. Afterwords went back to clear for a few more before bed. The lobby area is open, modern, and inviting. I wish ZenDen would have been open, not sure why it was closed on a busy Saturday night.
Had a wonderful sleep session on a very comfortable bed and pillows. Woke up to refreshments provided in the room. Tried the TV but it wouldn't turn on. Not to matter though as watching the rain fall though the windows was a better idea.
Ate breakfast at Kilowatt. The drinks and food were pretty good, especially for a hotel. Went back to sleep again in the comfortable bed until late check out.
Overall a very good, modern, Intercontinental. Well worth the money.

Excellent location, satisfactory parking situation in the downtown location, but need clearer signage in the parking how to get you down to level 4 and letters / numbers where you are parked. Snacks and water concession in your room, impression that nothing is really free.
