Breakfast in Shanghai "four big king kong"

Shanghai Styled Breakfast is used to numerous and exquisite, among which "four big king kong" -- pie, deep-fried dough sticks, soybean milk, rice are the most famous ones. Shanghai people cling to their long-standing, even over breakfast itself, to become the city of Shanghai taste memory.
InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin, formerly the State Guest House of Shanghai, has a rich heritage having served Chinese historical figures such as Chairman Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai. During the War of Liberation, the hotel was the headquarters of the Communist Party in Shanghai. The classically styled hotel is centrally located along tranquil Ruijin Er Road, close to Huaihai Road’s luxury retail, the quaint shops at Tianzifang, and the trendsetting Xintiandi bars and restaurants.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay In Olde Shanghai This was a great find. I went back and forth about being on the Bund or here. I made the right choice. The grounds and the hotel is beautiful. Staff was on their game. I was in the Club InterContinental section. My room was very large with a stunning fountain outside my patio. The Club was gorgeous. Nice Breakfast and good Happy Hour. High Tea could be a little better. Spa was 1st class. I will stay at this Hotel on my next trip to Shanghai. The area the its located in is a great part of town. Easy walking to shopping and good restaurants are all close. 20 March 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room way too hot. Room would not cool below 74 degrees F. Asked staff twice to send service tech, but it was never fixed. Paid almost $50 US per night for roll-away bed for my child. Hotel would not waive the fee even though I'm Platinum Elite. They told me they had to charge me since I was staying there on an award stay. Had strong impression hotel was doing anything possible, even compromising quality, to save a buck.... cheap, scratchy toilet paper, burned out light in makeup mirror- staff told me they do not replace them. Concierge had poor English skills and little knowledge of local tourist activities. (I recognize this property is in China, but every other international hotel of this caliber I've stayed in has had staff with decent English language abilities since it is the international language of business.) 19 March 2015
