OCHTEND

Start your day at Toast Box, located close by, with a local breakfast of coffee and toast served with kaya (coconut jam). Take a short walk to Kampong Glam where you will find colourful, traditional shophouses that line Haji Lane and Arab Street, where local independent designer boutiques are housed today. Nearby, the 19th century Masjid Sultan Mosque and Malay Heritage Centre offer an insight into the rich history and culture of the city’s Malay Community.

MIDDAG

A 15-minute stroll from Kampong Glam will take you to Little India where the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, built by Singapore’s first Indian settlers and adorned with colourful statues of Hindu gods, stands. For a local lunch, take the subway (MRT) from Little India to Chinatown to enjoy a variety of rice and noodle dishes by local hawkers at Chinatown Complex. Afterwards, browse the marketplace for souvenirs or discover the area’s history with a visit to the nearby Chinatown Heritage Centre.

AVOND

In the evening, catch a short taxi ride to Marina Bay and wander through to Merlion Park, home to the half-fish, half-lion statue which is a national icon. Close by, visit or catch a music performance at Esplanade–Theatres on the Bay, Singapore’s most exciting performing arts centre, or view the nightly light show from across Marina Bay Sands. Walk further along the Helix Bridge, an architecturally unique bridge said to bring happiness and prosperity, for picturesque views of the bay.
