There’s no better way to start your day in London than with a hearty breakfast in the Market Brasserie which features an open kitchen with spectacular river views and fresh produce from the London markets. Take time to explore the vibrant Greenwich Peninsula surrounding the hotel. South East London’s up and coming area has a long history too – as you’ll see if you wander down the river to the UNESCO-listed Maritime Greenwich area. Tip 1: Why not hop on the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers from North Greenwich Pier to Greenwich Pier, an 8-minute journey. Historical attractions include the Cutty Sark ship that transported tea and spices from Asia, the National Maritime Museum with Britain's naval history, and the Royal Observatory with its planetarium. On a sunny day, pick up a picnic in Greenwich Market and enjoy it in the sprawling Greenwich Park. Tip 2: Visitors queue in the Royal Observatory to stand astride the prime meridian dividing the world’s two hemispheres, but there’s no need – the line runs through the hotel grounds as well.

A short cruise down the river from Greenwich will take you into central London. Here, you can wander from Westminster into the West End to catch a matinee show – our Concierge can advise on what’s on and book your tickets for you. Or hop off the Thames Clippers riverboat at the London Eye for a ride on London’s iconic Ferris wheel – again, ask our Concierge to book advance tickets so you can jump the queue or enjoy a private pod. Alternatively, the Emirates Air Line cable car soars across the river Thames from North Greenwich to the ExCel and the restaurants and cafes of the re-developed Royal Victoria Dock. On the cable car’s southern side, a five-minute walk from the hotel, the Emirates Aviation Experience offers the chance to experience flying a commercial jet in Airbus and Boeing simulators. For a rewarding shopping trip, wander past boutiques in Canary Wharf or take a 10 minute Tube ride to Westfield Stratford. Golfers can stroll over to the N1 Golf driving range to practice their swing.

However, if you decide to spend your day in London, make it back to the hotel in time for a swim in the indoor pool or some pampering in our luxury spa or enjoy the sunset with cocktails in the hotel’s Eighteen Sky Bar come with panoramic views over Canary Wharf, the City of London and Greenwich. The Peninsula Restaurant is an award-winning fine dining destination known for its modern European cuisine with exotic spices and its speciality wines, but if you’re planning to dine out in Greenwich you’ll find plenty of choices. Many of our guests attend shows and concerts at The O2 arena, a five-minute stroll from the hotel and vibrant restaurants and bars. If you don’t have tickets, ask our Concierge for insider tips.
