Wake up early and begin your day with an energetic walk along the Lady Bird Lake hike and bike trail. At sundown in the Summer, just a short walk away, join the thousands of people gathering at the Congress Avenue Bridge to watch the famous bats take flight. From there head to the SoCo District for your choice of some of the best dining in town. Finish a perfect night at the famous Continental Club for live bands and mingling with the locals. You might even spot a celebrity!
Live Music Capital of the World
Austin is known as the 'Live Music Capital of the World.' Famous artists such as Willie Nelson and Stevie Ray Vaughan have called Austin home. The Broken Spoke for Country Honky Tonk and Continental Club for Texas Rock are two of Austin's favorite iconic stops for music.
Austin houses the largest number of Mexican fruit bats in North America. Each summer, thousands of people gather at the Congress Avenue Bridge to watch the bats take flight for feeding, minutes before sundown.
University of Texas at Austin
The University of Texas at Austin is one of North America's largest universities. Famous students have included Matthew McConaughey, Janis Joplin, Laura Bush, and Walter Cronkite. football has begun so you'll see alot of burnt orange in support of UT Football. Hook 'Em Horns!
