Situated in the center of Amsterdam on Dam Square, the Royal Palace was built in the 17th century. Inside, ornate rooms open to stunning marble and architectural gems like hand-painted ceilings and sculptures. Today, it remains one of three palaces the royal family maintains for lavish receptions and events. Visitors are welcome to guided and audio tours of various grand halls, rooms and galleries.

For prime nightlife, this former milk factory Melkweg, meaning Milky Way, is considered one of Amsterdam's most hip electronic music venues. Nestled along Amsterdam's canals and founded in the 1970s as a unique counter-culture outlet, the colossal structure now houses various multi-purpose rooms and large spaces for live music and dancing while upstairs, the more intimate Oude Zaal or Old Hall hosts exciting, up-and-coming bands.
