My stay is always comfortable and pleasant but I have 2 things to note:
1. I recently joined the IHG program. I was traveling with a coworker who is not a member nor has she recently signed up. She
was provided an upgraded suite upon check in and I received a standard room. The room was pleasant and I enjoyed my time there but what is the benefit of being a member if you're not offered perks. I understand that I'll now have IHG points and status but it seems odd that something like an upgraded room wouldn't be offered to a new member to generate more business.
2. Odd that at a hotel with ferraris and bentleys parked out front I had to pay for a stamp. I've stayed at average hotels where they happily accept my card which was only sent in standard US mail. The cost of 50 cents wasn't bothersome, just a bit out of character for such a prestigious hotel brand.
Again my stay was pleasant, and the hotel provided all the elements I needed to get a good nights rest but felt like offering those two pieces of information.
